Hi Adywan,
Just wanted to report my findings when using the DVD9 of Ep. 4 with my Sony BDP-S350 Blu-ray player. Not sure if anybody's reported anything similar (26 pages of postings is a LOT to read through, LOL).
Anyway, I obtained the iso/mds files from BitTorrent, and burned the image onto a Verbatim DVD+R DL using the latest version of ImgBurn (2.4.2.0). I placed the disc into my S350 and it correctly identified it as a DVD+R AVCHD disc. The movie started, although it took a few seconds for the main DD 5.1 track to kick in. A few seconds later, (the 20th Century Fox fanfare hadn't even finished playing), the sound suddenly cut out. The video kept going, and after another couple of seconds the sound came back in, a little ahead of the Star Wars "stacked" title. The video suddenly jumped ahead to catch up, but was jerky. I ejected the disc and reinserted, but the same thing happened again. Then I switched the audio to the 3rd track (ie. the fan commentary) and restarted the film. This time, the sound didn't cut out, and the video didn't need to catch up or become jerky. Weird... I wonder if the Sony unit has an issue with decoding 5.1 sound on an AVCHD disc. Anyway, the video played mostly okay (the S350 recognized that it was true 24fps playback) but every so often (maybe once every 30 seconds?) the video would "jump" a frame. This was noticable during the opening scroll, and then again when the Star Destroyer flew by. Not sure if this is a problem with the Sony trying to interpret the 24fps playback, or just the player itself trying to "keep up" with this special AVCHD disc. I suppose I can try downloading Ep. 5 (which you didn't encode in true 24 fps) and see if anything improves.
Regards,
Visor
