An ambitious scheme to be sure but it's not entirely impossible, (just look at how amazing some fan films look) perhaps you should move this topic over to the Radical Redux thread as starting from scratch is as about as radical as radical can be. It would be much easier to fill in the continuity holes if a new story avoided them entirely and this thread is really for recommending existing edits.
