I'm going to make another bold suggestion:

COMPLETELY REMOVE ANY mention of Leia and Luke being related.  It was ONLY added in to try and "top" the Luke/Vader reveal in ESB, and just screwed up the way things had been going up to that point.  It just smacks of being thrown in at the last minute.

I know no one will agree with me, but that's my opinion.

that's hard to get rid of now that for over 24 yrs we've been use to leia being luke's sister. it would make a lot of missing pieces if that happened.

Actually I think the Leia being Luke's sister was not so much to top the revelations, but as something that motivates luke to fly into rage at Vader in the Emperor's throne room.

Lucas was trying to figure out something he Vader could say to anger Luke into a fighting rage, and that was it. Lucas even said it on "From Star Wars to Jedi."

I always thought that it was done to soften the fact that Luke doesn't get the girl as would have been the case in 99% of movies.  Had they gone with Ford's suggestion that Solo be killed off, I am sure Luke would have gotten the girl and there would be no mention of this siblings business.

Ok well i have tweaked Yoda a little bit more. If i do any more then its going to become overdone.

FINAL YODA TWEAKED

YOUTUBE VERSION (but i would recommend the downloadable version above due to better quality)

Tobar, that's good that your friend couldn't tell what was different from the original, as this just confirms that Adywan's subtle enhancements have not overpowered the look of the excellent 'puppet' Yoda.  It has made a big improvement however, so just tell him that there are now a few 'blinks', as well as some amendment to his mouth when speaking, and some slight facial tweaks too.

I think that it's just the above 'clip' that has been shown with the tweaks, and that any previous Yoda clips that were previously released, only show 'colour correction' to their scenes.

Ganamae, you'll be pleased to know that Adywan does indeed plan to amend that particular 'Rebel trench' background shot.  This will be a very nice one to see, as this 'continuity error' was always an annoying one.

This has been a public service announcement.

Looking through an archive of the Official Site's GOUT vs DVD comparison, and I noticed this:

Not only did they use the same hallway for the SE shot of people wandering, but they used the SAME SE HALLWAY with the same buildings in the background.

Funnily enough that's exactly what i've been working on. Here they are, although not yet quite finished:

:-O

Wha?  How?  Are those shots from the SE approach made into mattes?  Are you cutting the SE approach?  I love the brightness of your scenes...

Amazing.

One thing missing that I hope will be evident in motion:

Sky traffic.  Just a little, even if far off in the distance.  Just some movement like ILM added to the establishing shot of Mos Eisley.

i can see them now! they look awesome, i agree the addition of ships in the background would be aweosme, it would just tighten that pt - ot gap further.

veeery pleased!

how about the background behind boba fett when he is loading solo into slave 1, are you going to do anything to that shot? it always looked really empty to me.

Not to be anal, but, do the two new shots have continuity? The building placement looks completely different. That being said the new shots at the very least are visually pleasing.

Also, didn't some kind of tram pass under in one of the new shots? Is that still going to be there?

I hope there is still sky traffic and some movement, there especially needs to be sky traffic when the falcon is escaping. Lando advised the folks in the city to hit the road (or sky in this case).

Ady for someone who said that ESB:R was going to be a lot less work than your other Revisited projects you really do seem to be putting a tonne of work into this one (not that I'm complaining).

Great stuff.

You may want to play with/consider blurring the buildings more and more as they recede into the background due to atmospheric effects (like when you look at a city from far away and it has an almost transparent bluish look).  Maybe that was one of the problems with the city effects of the prequels was that everything in foreground to background looked sharp, when you would have focal issues and atmospheric effects that could have made the scenes more realistic.

Things like the monorails and air traffic could be nice visually, but at the same time the focus should be on the main action, not the stuff moving in the background.

I would nix the trains, but maybe put those slow pulsing red lights that buildings here have on the top (for airplanes at night) and have one or two cloud cars VERY far in the distance... maybe just reduced to a black dot with running lights.  Maybe something enough to bring the city to life (like maybe the addition of audio effects to indicate a busy city behind and underneath them) but not enough to pull away from what we are supposed to be paying attention to.

at least in ROTS the backgrounds definitely were blurred. Just watched it.
