Thanks for your precious help ! It'll take time to download via Rapidshare but it's ok.

Why doesn' t Adywan mention links for his own work ? Is it a secret ?

It's safer for a fan editor to release it into the wild and say "find it yourself".  That way if Lucasfilm comes knocking they can't say "YOU posted it here and have links for it HERE, HERE, and HERE".  This site also forbids direct links for the same reason.  The link you were given used to be THE place for direct links, but the MPAA came a couple months ago and made them take all the links down.  Scary stuff.

But Revisited is the greatest thing ever.  Be sure to download the DVD-9 (dual layer) for all the bonus feature goodness.  And visit the links in my signature if you want to see every visual change / fix Adywan made to the movie.  He gave me 500 of them, and that doesn't count changes in movement, pacing changes, or audio changes.

Thanks. I'm not sure it's DVD 9. It says Adywan's STAR WARS - REVISITED: PAL

I'll look all that quietly later. For now I go back to work. Thanks to you once more ! :)

Do you live in the PAL region (ie, not America)?  Just making sure.

I' m in France. But I wonder if I can read the two systems here.

But if I understand well I guess I need the NTSC DVD... Hooooofff. Too much for my head now. As I said, I'll check all that in a few hours, trying to understand.

PS: Yes, my DVD's are in PAL, or at least the one I just found next to me.

Don't worry from what I can remember you should have the PAL version from those 47 files

I was watching the DVD9 version again yesterday when I suddenly realized something:

The battle of heroes music you added to reflect Anakin and Obi-Wan's fight in EpIII... isn't that a major clue/spoiler that Darth Vader is Anakin?

If you are removing the Vader=Anakin references from the prequels, isn't adding this music to the OT a bit contradictory? Or are you planning on replacing the music in the PT?

Just wondering :-)

Good point.  Maybe "Battle of the Heroes" is more of "Obi-wan is fighting" than "Obi-wan and Anakin are fighting"?

Surely we'd still be seeing the 'transformation' in some sort of manner by the end of Episode III, Darthbo?  So we'd certainly know this by that point in the saga, no matter how much Adywan changes things.  Or am I misunderstanding what you mean?

Edit: I think I did misunderstand, lol.

Well no IF, you make a good point: if Adywan keeps the transformation scene we'll know Vader's Anakin, so no need to keep it as a surprise in the OT.

I was just under the impression (or hoping) that the transformation would be cut, so I could watch the saga in chronological order without knowing for sure who Vader is until episode V.

Wow, I don't remember reading that anywhere!  I'd hope to see the 'transformation' into the suit in some sort of 'Adywaned' way....

Edit: Although if that's what's been decided, then I see how that could also work.  I just like the imagery of the scene I suppose (apart from the current exaggerated "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"), and I've been used to always recommending 'newbies' to the saga, to watch the OT first anyway, in the order they were first released theatrically....

I hope to be able to revise this advice, one day, when Adywan has done his stuff to it all.  :)

I gave my cousin a copy of ANH:Revisited over Christmas and he texted me to say how much he enjoyed it.

So the word continues to spread.

Yes, like DarthBo, I seem to remember Adywan saying that we'd only see Vader for the first time in Ep. IV...

I watched the gallery and it looks very promising.

Please, what is the MPAA ?

The Motion Picture Association of America.  They represent American movie studios and they're in charge of the rating system (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17).  They also try to prevent piracy, which is why they frown on links to movies on websites.

I see.

Anyway, it is crazy to notice that a firm such as Lucasfilm has missed both the passage from LP to CD for the music, and from tapes to DVD for the video, from the QUALITY point of view. Disapointing ! Perhaps they have too much money to care about quality now.

No, what i actually said was:

I am toying with the idea that we don't see vader in the PT but I'm probably more inclined to give Vader a better role at the end. I want to see him hunting down and killing some of the remaining Jedi at the end not the stupid wimp screaming "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" Also i never understood why the hell he needs a lifesupport suit when all that happened was he got burned. His lungs wouldn't have been affected. I'm going to be adding something that explains why he has to breath artificially when i get to ROTS:R

Thanks for the clarification, Ady. I don't remember reading that. Very interesting! Definitely agree about removing the 'noooooooo!'!

Hey, I was just thinking about how you might need to film something at some point, asnd it got me thinking: did we ever see that Vader costume you were putting together?

You shouldn't have to. Being in such close proximity to major volcanic activity would fry anyone's lungs. (Of course, if we're being realistic, both Obi-Wan and Vader should have been frying early on, but for all we know Vader was lying there for hours before Palpatine got to him.)

That said, I'll be interested to see what you have in mind.

I'm in the "lungs were burned badly" crowd. I never had a problem understanding the life support suit. As previously stated, the issue does come up of why Anakin and Obi-Wan weren't completely fried shortly into the battle, but all Lucasisms aside, I can actually buy that they were using the force to protect themselves, along with the shields on the miner droid/platform. Anakin gets 3 limbs cut off, goes into shock, his focus drops, and he goes up in flames. Seems pretty straightforward to me. It would be fun to see more of Vader being badass, instead of mopey and depressed. He should use his anger for his own power, not stand there and cry in despair. Lucas may have had the general right idea, but somewhere between his mind and the screen things got more than a little muddled.

[lucas]You see, they were using the Force to keep the temperature around them at a reasonable temperature at all times.[/lucas]

This is all being covered on the Radical Prequel Redux Ideas Thread (just trying to atone for the few times I wander off topic elsewhere).

I watched this in it's entirety this week, followed by the changes description feature and part of the score only feature and I just want to add my congratulations to Adywan on making the best version of the film since it hit theaters.  It's quite an achievement to improve on the already Oscar-winning editing.  This is the version that I will be watching when I want to see Star Wars in the future.  I can't wait for Empire Strikes Back and eventually Return of the Jedi.  My gratitude also goes out to Siliconmaster for the assist.  I'm going to be sending this out to a few friends as soon as I can get my hands on a DVD drive that will burn DL.

For me the scene where Vader is being "put back together" on the table & he is knocking away the med droids bugs the sith out of me

if the audio of his perfectly healthy moans of pain was replaced with that of a person barely able to breath it would be enough for me (I will mention this in the future when Ady gets around to doing Ep III) what do you guys think?

sorry for the off topic post but this has bugged me since I saw the movie in the cinema

I think there are only two solutions:

1° You re-shot all these three movies with a new crew.

2° You forget them forever !

... And believe me the 2nd solution is possible, 'cause I did. (I can' t remember the least detail from the Ep 3, even when I saw a bunch of photo I was seeking for a CD backcover. Only I remember the creepy Emperor who was very interesting)

TMBTM mentioned 'wheezing' something like this on page 10 of 'The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread', and I like this thought.

I just wish we'd got slightly more 'Vader in suit' action by the end of the third one, but George just didn't write it that way at the time, unfortunately.  Instead of the 'fade-out' as he (badly) screamed out "Noooooooooooo!", I'd have liked to have seen him say, 'force throw' even the Emperor near him against the wall, and then have the injured Emperor put his hand up quickly, while telling Vader "WAIT!...."
