Good idea!  Watching a movie in between work also helps ease the brain.

I'm just glad we're finally at Metropolis.  I love the Krypton/Smallville scenes, but it's great to see Reeve.

Okay, here's some snippets in a montage.  This will be it for a while.  Enjoy!

Hey guys!

Sorry there has not been many updates but we are still working on it.  Phineasbg is doing a heck of a job.

We will see if we can get a clip or some screengrabs up in the next few weeks.

Thanks

Mitch

Funny! Although I was expecting "More Kryptonian council!!!"

Somebody should take all the footage of Otis walking and synch it up with "Staying Alive". ;)

Ask and you shall receive. Proper credits is given at the end.

Enjoy Otis' exploits to Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees.
This is a really fun clip, edited by Alex Serpa and featuring many extended scenes never officially released.

Download it at CapedWonder (under may 24th.)

Announcement:

Superman The Movie - The KCOP cut has joined forces with Supermanii.com and CapedWonder 's RIC (Restored International Cut) in a bid to put together the best possible Superman The Movie - the Salkind international cut presentation imaginable.

The RIC editor, Phineasbg and Nighthawks have unloaded several burdens off each other, this will make things (hopefully) go faster and bring a smoother and tighter finished product.

A full restoration of the deleted scenes is being attempted.  Dust, specks and scratch removal for all the extra scenes are being done to create the best possible looking picture.

For more information head on over to Supermanii.com or CapedWonder for continuing updates.

I wondered if this was going to happen.  You guys never seemed to portray this as a competition so it does make sense to pool your resources.

Good luck!

Exciting indeed.  Please don't let the endless pursuit of needless perfection let this happen at the pace of the X0 project though.

X0 is the ultimate top-of-the-line Pioneer NTSC laserdisc player, and there's been a few people on the forum talking about ripping several editions of the Star Wars trilogy on it and cleaning it up.

Which is almost pointless now. the XO project that is unless you want less than standard definition dvd quality in an era where DVD is being left behind in favor of high definition and blu ray.

Will they make an upscaled blu ray or HDTV edition?

Besides the fact that no hardware is going to replicate from a laserdisc even the level of quality of a interlaced digital master taken from 35mm masters.

The gout is the best star wars will ever look on dvd. Without creating an entirely new high definition master in anamorphic that is restored from vaulted original elements.

Making fixes on the frames that are ruined or overly sharpened or dvnr'ed is the only reason a project like X0 is worth any salt at all.

Working with interlaced analog laserdiscs, in the year 2006,lol.  Supposed to represent the original quality of the theatrical releases it is not.  Now 2009 going on 2010 and the X0 project site has had no updates since 2005 in the articles section. Almost five or six years the greater part of a decade with not a single piece of video released unless you count the leaked timecode version.

When was the project created in 2003 or 2004?

The Legacy of the originals is destroyed though now because there is no archival prints of the originals to be shown in cinemas in 35mm or 70mm.  I would pay good money to see those but Lucash cares not.

And unless you are rich and have your own home theater with the ability to screen movies you like me will never see these films again as they were meant to be seen.

If i was wealthy i would have them in 16mm anamorphic reduction prints in LPP or mylar stock in dolby stereo.  It is not legal to own the 70mm 6 track for home exihibition and if  it was and i was rich that print in technicolor would be my choice.
