"Unlike all these sites, originaltrilogy.com is not funded by advertising. I built it myself, I pay for the hosting costs. I have no agenda other than that listed on the home page--the release of the theatrical cuts on DVD. That's where my goals end. Aside from a mention on my resume, I get no returns on my investment."

Which is why we love you Jay, and why OT.com will always remain my first priority.

The Star Wars web community has become overrun with sellouts who are more interested in increasing exposure to their sites than they are in reporting news and remaining relevant. There are very few genuine film fans remaining among Star Wars fans; fanboys are in charge now.

Agreed. Many of them guilty of the same things they bash George Lucas for.

Definitely. And for many reasons:

1. Jay's commitment

2. The worthy cause

3. All the great regs like Motti, Luke, Bossk, Gundark, DAYV and RRS

4. The technical layout of the site: ie naviagation, colour scheme, user friendly set up

5. almost none of the BS you find on any other SW site (once and a while we have a trouble maker wander in though)

TFN IS RUN BY A BUNCH OF FANBOYS WHO DON'T EVEN HAVE TO DROP A DIME ON THE COSTS OF THEIR SITE BECAUSE OF ALL THE ADVERTISING ON THEIR SITE. JAY PAYS FOR THIS SITE OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET BECAUSE HE BELIEVES IN HIS PETITION AS DO MOST OF US HERE. I SAY "MOST" BECAUSE THERE HAVE BEEN POSTERS ON HERE WHO FIND IT NECESSARY TO CALL US FOOLS FOR BELIEVING THAT CHANGE CAN BE BROUGHT ABOUT THROUGH THE PETITION. ONE MAN CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE AND THAT MAN IS JAY.

It's "hear, hear" or so I've been led to believe for many a year.

Kudos, Jay. This is the only forum I check out on a regular basis.

Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Mark me down as a sickly more than regular checker of this forum. Hell, I don't even log out until the weekend.

Hey, your's is nothing to scoff at, Rebel. You're still up over the 1K mark. That's better than 95% of the posters here if not higher than that.

True, but considering I signed up the same time as you its sort of funny how much difference there is in our post counts. Not that I'm complaining, I was with TF.n for 4 years, and even though many found me outspoken and a constant presence, my post count was only 6000, which was a fraction of what some guys had who had been there only a year.

I would argue the whole "quality vs. quantity" bit again, but then I'd be making myself look bad, wouldn't I?

I Too Agree what has been said about the Bits site and the others, One that does have a few fans that kinda side with us here are the members of "Jedi.net" not all but a few. .... unless those are just some of us posting there too? ¿

Back in 1995 I used to chat with a pretty big group of fans over at one of the AOL Star Wars chat Groups, I wonder if they feel the same way as us?. I bet its "50/50" for most of them too.

IMO.

P.S.
I also agree "Webmaster Jay" is a Cool Dude!

We should take our hats off to www.dvdfile.com as well. This is a great site and they have hosted one of our banner ads for a long time, and it appears next to every single review they write.

I believe I praised DVDFile in another post where I blasted the other sites. DVDFile has had the animated "Han Shoots First" banner on their site for a long time. They probably could've sold that space to an advertiser if they'd wanted.

Yeah, and thats ite gets a lot of traffic. I'm always happy to see Han in the corner whenever I read their reviews (which are always good)

You did praise them, Jay. Wonder if we should add a banner to them on this site as a show of thanks?

yeah, there should be a section of where all the custom made banners from the fans are placed.
