Daaaaaaaa! I am so used to seeing those damn words when I am on the otherside of the world. Wonder if these can be found somewhere on scifi.com?
Okay, since I cannot watch the videos due to my being in the states, I read the descriptions for each video, and was kind of struck at the description of 2008's video containing the words, "The role playing video game Star Wars: The Force Unleashed". Is the Force Unleashed actually suppose to be an RPG? Sorriest excuse for an RPG I have ever seen.

a dumb hack and slash game an rpg hardly. Well if you follow the definition of what we believe a rpg to be based on our experience with J-rpg's starting with the first final fantasy on the nes or famicom to those in japan.
Unless in the strictest sense you do role play it puts you in the role of controlling starkiller, but that would make God of War an rpg too and nobody calls that an rpg.

Well, by literal standards, nearly every video game would be a role playing game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but what we call RPGs really inherited the title from old table top games like D&D. Therefore, what we refer to as RPGs are in a similar vein to those. I haven't played The Force Unleashed. As far as I've been able to tell, though, it's not an RPG, right?

No, having played it through several levels before getting bored of it, I can say with certainty, it is not an RPG. I am just curious if it has actually been labeled as an RPG by LucasArts. Surely the UK doesn't have their own definition of RPG, right? Just strange to see it called that in that video description.
Hmm, how cool would an Oblivion/Fallout 3 style Star Wars RPG be?
