- There's some Temple of Doom music added to the water escape sequence.

Now I know there are fifty bajillion people working on this, and I haven not read a single thing about what any of them are doing.

In that case, what a strange coincidence... ;-)

Hahahaha Yeah. :D

Ok, I know that this isn't in any list, but I really wanted to change it.

I'm talking about the scene where Spalko threatened Indy with the sword... I don't like that cut, It seems so... weird? xD (Maybe I'm the only one that see this weird... xDDDDDD)

Anyway, I tried to change it...

and its funny version...

The clip from the first link freezes up for me after the "original" clip ends.

The funny version works for me though, and it is pretty funny.

I finally managed to get the raw plates for the opening shot off of the Blu-Ray.

Here's my clean comp, without the prarie dog (and without any color-correction for now): Clean Opening

And for all you prarie dog haters: CLICK

Perfect Laser! Finally, we have a non-offensive opening to the flick and could actually get Indy 4 prarie-dog free! And lmao at your second clip - you've got to include that as a bonus feature with your fan-edit whenever you get round to finishing it!

Fantastic stuff!

Nah, not completely dog-free, as the next shot (of the car driving into the distance) contains 30 or so prairie dogs scattering out of the way. But that shot makes sense, as it explains why there's a mound of dirt, and all the offensive dog-shots will be gone.

Awesome! That's a much better opening!

And I agree with topdawg, you should include the second version as a bonus feature on the DVD!

Yeah, definitely - that shot is really inoffensive compared to the other prarie-dog sequences, and never bothered me at all in the theatrical cut. And like you say, in your edit, it will give justification for the presence of a dirt mound in the first scene.

Damn. I was looking at those color corrections again, Laser. Still amazed at how much of an improvement it is. Just amazing.

That's why we NEED this edit. The color correction will definitely improve the film, at least visually.

Completely agree.

So I'm not completely clear, is this going to be a group of editors working on an uber-cut or is everyone doing their own digital work and coming up with different edits?

I think that they're all doing separate edits, and will help each other if necessary.

I'm REALLY looking forward to getting Laser's edit. Not to hurry you up or anything, but do you have an approximate release date, Laser?

Nope, no date. Sometime next year, I'm sure ;-)

Oh, OK. What are you working on now/next?

So I overheard some fellas in a bar last night talking about Indy 4. They hated it, but whats great is that their issues with the film were pretty much exactly the things we are targeting. Nice to know that we seemed to have hit the mark on this. I really wanted to tell them that there is hope and his name is Laser, Marion, Spence, Infodroid, Golden Idol, TopDawg and Jones1899 (and others).

Marion,

I'm kinda torn here. I really like Color 4 and Color 2, but I'd have to see more clips to really decide my favorite. Nice work though - this will help the movie greatly.

Questions:

Is this sort of edit a frame by frame sort of thing?

And, how is the rest of your edit coming along?

Ok, I was bored so... I started with the color correction... Here are some samples. Tell me what you think ;)

You really can't tell which color looks best, since you switch them around so fast. Try posting color corrected scenes, and then we'll see.
