I think -1 kind of likes to play devil's advocate, which leads him to take arguments out of the bounds of logic just for the sake of arguing.

I am not really trying to convince him of anything, he will come to whatever conclusions he has his mind set to come to. I was just having fun comparing the OT to a little kid locked in his parents basement, forgotten and replaced by a younger sibling. I think it is a very fitting comparison and surprised it took me this long to come up with it. Too bad so few people will read my stroke of genius due to it being written in the midst of an overly long winded post...
