So Adywan, which release is next on the list for the AVCHD treatment? Will you have time while working on Empire Revisted?

Anyone put this on Rapidshare yet? Torrent is taking forever.

Too bad you didn't add any dutch subtitle as you did with the first one.

But still great work!

hi im using bit torrent to download it, and it has got to 99.7% and stopped because there was an error saying 'error : the requested operation could not be completed due to a file system limitation' anyone know what this means? iv got loads of space left on my hdd. Its so annoying im so close with only 0.3% left to go! do you think if i burnt it now it would work ok?

I highly doubt it... Try restarting the torrent application, then restarting the computer if that doesn't work. You could also stop the torrent (but don't delet what you've already downloaded!) and force a recheck of the file. I assume you're running some flavor of Windows and the HDD is formatted to NTFS and not something with filesize limits like FAT32?

Author
Time

yes there is a filesize limit with fat32...

The maximum possible size for a file on a FAT32 volume is 4GiB minus 1 byte (232−1 bytes). Video applications, large databases, and some other software easily exceed this limit.

NTFS doesn't have that problem, i'm sure the client created the file properly..

(you might want to check the filesize)..

Let me start off by giving huge thanks to Adywan for working to set the trilogy right again with these releases.

I've been trying to get ANH off Usenet (I'll admit to being a near-complete Usenet newbie), but I keep running into issues with parts 59 and 61 being incomplete. (Not corrupt, just missing messages making me unable to combine the messages) - Just wondering if anyone else has run into this.

Just download all the par2 files that are posted with it . You'll need quickpar (just google it, it's free). once you've installed quickpar open any one of the par2 files and it will scan all the rar files. If there are any incompletes, and you have enough par2's, just click "repair" after the scan and it will repair the incomplete files.

Thanks for the quick reply - I've used Quickpar before, but was under the (possibly mistaken) impression that I needed to at least have the problematic .rar files in order to repair them. (The problem I have is that my newsreader (News Rover) can't form the .rar files as large numbers of the messages in those two parts are missing)

Like I mentioned in the first post, I'm a Usenet newbie - is there a way to form the .rar files manually when a large number of the messages that form the .rar file are completely missing? (or will the par files completely build the two missing .rar files when I begin the scan?)

Thanks again for the help and work!

Yup - just figured it out (told you I was a newbie!) - there is a way for it to combine the files that it was unable to complete automatically, so once I finish downloading all the par2 files, I should be good to go.

I know I said it before, but it still bears saying - thanks again for both your help and the work on this version of the trilogy!

No rapidshare links I know of.  The problem with the torrent is that there's loads of hit and run downloaders.  Next time I'll upload it to a torrent site that requires you to maintain a share ratio.

This is a good idea, as long as we are able to get invtes for the site to everyone that needs one, or we can find a site that doesn't require invites.

Adywan,

I found  ROTJ somewhere:

Format : x264
Source : HDTV
Resolution : 1280x544 6589 kbit/s
Audio : AC3 5.1 384 kbit/s English
Subtitles : English

Is this your next AVCHD release or made by someone else?
Just wanted to ask, because I would prefer your colour-corrected release and
would rather wait if it is not.

One question regarding the 14GB version. How can you possibly edit and color correct the video data and go directly from original transports streams to x.264 mkv file without a transcoding process along the way at some point? Especially if you are using Vegas?

The original source was converted to avi using a lossless codec (lagaryth). the colour correction was all done in Adobe after effects in sections. Sony vegas was only used to piece the sections together without any extra encoding. Then megui was used to create the x264 file. I'm a bit confused by your question actually because i have never said that it has gone directly from the source to the x264 mkv

the 14gb version will be a while away yet. I need to wait until my upload limit resets later in the month and also to have 4 days that i can tie my computer up to upload it.

To clarify, my encodes were avsynth avi frameserving in Vegas then encoded directly to WMV-HD from there. It seems you have a few paths to take the video stream through before it actualy hits the final encoded stage. I was conerened about keeping the video quality as uncorrupted as possible as by using frameserving I was able to color correct, frame edit and timesync the original transport stream directly in Vegas then straight to wmv encode.

Aside from that I too am still looking forward to your 14GB edition. I'll always embrace the highest quality editions I can get my hands on, even though, as of yet I still haven't found anything better than the Premier caps.
