That would kinda make sense, but Rebels have always fired red lasers, so either way is kosher with me (which is why I brought up the green AT-AT thing: yes, the stormtroopers in ANH fired red lasers from their guns, but the big stuff shot green bolts. Regardless, moot point).
Here are some other things to consider:
FUN WITH STAR DESTROYERS!
(1) in regards to the Executor and Star Destroyers, the SDs definitely need their engines recolored to blue (being that they are white). Would you consider changing the Executor engine color to blue to match the SD engines (not a big deal, but a question none the less). Also need more shadow information on these shots:
the SD is directly underneath the Executor and is just as grey as the one on the background. Again, engines are white not blue as in ANH (as seen below):
Maybe a test pic for altering the Executor engines to blue (SDs still need blue engines though).
Oh yeah, and the MF needs some blue engine work too:
(2) Now THIS needs some work; I noticed earlier you mentioned you are going to replace the BATTLESTAR GALACTICA shuttle with the tri-wing Lambda class from JEDI (definitely a good idea), but as you can see, the SD the shuttle comes from needs some lighting and shadow work - it looks rather flat and model-ly.
In fact, here is a possible replacement for the upper SD shot seen above (you could either push the Executor further away into the background to accomodate the larger SD shot, or you could either shrink the SD foreground shot below to fit the frame better or move it up inside the frame to give more room below for the Executor to be seen):
(3) and I guess this is the shot you were talking about earlier in the talkback (with the disappearing conning tower)?
(4) the SDs need to shoot more laserbolts! They got a million of those things (or course they would still MISS... unless they're shooting at asteroids)
