Well, I tried the newsgroup thing a while back when Adywan released the first AVCHD, and wasn't too impressed. Can we get a torrent of this going? Preferably an iso image like last time...

yeah, i don't care for newsgroups either,

but sometimes you have to just resort to using it, when you

have no choice..

for me it takes awhile, but the end result will be great.

if you wait awhile it'll show up eventually....

i won't be around to seed it this time, but i'm sure if you keep

checking it will be there.

I demand that someone provide me a copy now.... but I want it delivered by hand, via double decker bus with a bunch of strippers (top tier strippers mind you)!

I wonder how long I will have to wait until someone fulfills my request...  oh I guess I could pay 3 bucks to astraweb and get it tonight.

Now that is Funny, that is exactly how I feel,Astraweb is the best service out there hands down(my opinion ofcourse) $25 for 110 GB's download is friggin SWEET!

do a little work, pay a little money, and you to can have it NOW!

Thanks Adywan,ESB is my FAVORITE!

My problem with usenet is usenet itself. I gave it a go, and got several useful things out of it, but it wasn't worth the hassle, even after the initial learning curve. As a totally separate issue, if I'm going to have to pay someone for Adywan's work, why should it be some random corporation instead of Adywan himself?

For the record, I have donated more to Adywan than it would have cost for me to get usenet access for the releases I'm interested in. I make no demands regarding buses or strippers, just a simple request that someone provide the release in the format requested by 50% of the members in Moth3r's recent survey (as opposed to 12.5% who requested usenet). I don't think that's unreasonable, as Adywan, while expressing his personal disinterest in torrents, has never said he doesn't want people doing it.

If it becomes clear that usenet is the only way to get Adywan's releases, I guess I'll have to suck it up and deal with the crappy interface, the corrupted downloads, the wasted disk space, and the fact that I'm paying someone else for Adywan's work, but I'd much rather send another fiver Adywan's way.

you know I used to feel exactly the same way you do,it took me forever before I liked usenet, and I HATED it for the same reasons you do,but now that I learned it and found the "right" software for me,now I really like it,it is a GREAT alternative to torrents, and NO SEEDING BS!,and no worrying about those idiot hit and runners, sure $25 is kind of alot of money I hues, but 110 GB's is ALOT of stuff,it would get you ALL Ady's releases and a TON more,Segaflip the KING of usenet helped me get setup,if you decide to give usenet a shot again,PM me and I will give you help,I have helped out others and now they think it is pretty damn easy to,once you have the Astraweb acct.,all you do is load that info into Grabit, then goto binsearch or newzleech and download the .nzb file(which to me is just like a torrent LOL)load that .nzb into Grabit and wallah, you are grabing Ady's fabulous file.

but like I said,if you give it a go again,PM me and I will gladly help you out,I started my download of this little over 4 hours ago and I have it already.

and yes 2 files were incomplete, but QuikPar fixed it in a jiffy, the Par files are right there in the download,so no extra downing.

all you need is this:

Astraweb acct.,Grabit,Quikpar,Winrar.

While I'm grateful for the offer (truly I am), I don't find usenet difficult, confusing, or intimidating in any way. I find it annoying. I have the same problem with usenet as I would have with trying to pull something of this magnitude from Rapidshare. I wind up with dozens or hundreds of files (this latest AVCHD post has, what, 179 parts from binsearch?) that form basically a single archive which I then have to extract, essentially doubling the space required. With a torrent, I start the torrent, walk away, and when I check back, I have the iso. No repairing of files, no waiting for a 7+ GB file extraction, just burn the image. Seeding doesn't bother me, I tend to leave stuff seeding for long periods of time. In fact, I'm still seeding Adywan's first AVCHD release (which I originally downloaded from usenet). The simple fact is, I don't like usenet. I've tried it, gave it a fair shot, and don't like it.

Again, I'm grateful for the offer of help, but as stated earlier, it's not an issue with difficulty. Usenet is a last resort for me on this one. I'll take -1's advice and wait for a bit...

I see your point and understand completely,I was there right with you for a long time, and I can't stand rapidshare,I don't mind torrents so much anymore because all the places I get them from are very strict on seeding,so that is cool.

hopefully someone will upload the torrent ASAP for all you guys, because I won't upload to Demonoid or TPB,they are way to lax and the hit and runners there suck!

i would be the last person to defend newsgroups, or all the hassle...

but the thing is.....yes, you will need double the disk space, but unless you have a

very small harddrive, an extra 9 or 10 gigs shouldn't kill you (even temporarily)..

and also, there is an option in some of those newsgroup programs, where it unrars

it for you to an .ISO (i don't know if it checks the par file first, but it could).....

so again, it could be pretty automated..

and about the waiting time for all this stuff,

unless you have a slow computer, the time it

takes to do all this and burn it, you should still be

able to use your computer for other things, so it's

not totally tied up...(at least for me)... once again

you're going to have to burn the iso anyways, so whats

the harm in watiing a little bit longer for the other stuff?

i'm not trying to change your mind... but i just wanted to point out a few things,

in case others are wondering the same thing...

yes, this is a last resort, but since my computers on 24/7, and i don't have any download

limits, i don't mind using it..

also, about rapidshare, if you have a premium account, you can automate downloading

from that too, with their own program, or an opensource program called jdownloader

which gets all the files, checks them, and unrars them for you, so it's not painfull at

all.. in fact i prefer that to torrents, because i can max out my speed connection that

way...

to each their own..

If you use the program I do, Alt.binz (google it).  It will do all the work for you, downloading, extracting, paring, moving the files and deleting the rar archives.

Well the rendering is done and it looks pretty good. i've decided to keep the framerate at 23.976 instead of 24fps because some older TVs can't handle 24kz so this one should be more compatible. So here is the specs for ESB AVCHD:

What is the difference? And do you even see it?

And the commentary tracks, is it the SE or the old one?

I'm thinking of creating a torrent.  Where would you suggest I upload it to?

Demonoid

I've got a Demoniod account but do they allow DHT and Peer exchange? I'm pretty sure they don't.

Author

Iam prepared to upload a torrent of this.

If someone wants to upload to Demonoid I will upload to mininova or pirate bay.

It makes no sense to have duplicate material on one site

I have a slow connection so its going to take a while.

How about using 7z to highly compress the iso before uploading?

Author

Why not just upload it exactly the way Adywan has it on the newsgroups, that would be the smart way to do it.

Has anyone had any issues burning the repack......it fails on mine half way through on two different tries? I am using image-burn and have it set to the UDF2.5? The DL's I could find were cheap Memorex ones but I burned EPIV that way and all was fine. If anyone has any ideas just let me  know:)

FYI - Got it to work with daemon tools and nero disk copy. Not sure why the image burn kept getting write errors  on the layer switch???

Ady, thanks for giving Empire back to me.

Again, this is a MUST HAVE for anyone with the right equipment and is currently the best way on the planet to enjoy Empire. Speaking as someone who has spent a LOT of time on the color correction, I must bow down to Ady on this one. Quite a few of the scenes I thought we might have shared our CC settings! But, you were able to get the snow just perfect. That was something I couldn't get just right. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

BTW, I burned ANH with ImgBurn in Windows 2000 and ESB with Toast in OS X, and they both worked just fine using MBI dual-layer glossy hub printable media.

Now if we could just get some nice artwork. Hint... AvP... Hint...

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.
