Hmmm, but I guess it would be slightly different with the Van Gogh, as there would only be one, and it would be mine, so I could do what I like with it. As you say, there are eight gazonkillion copies of some version of SW out there, and everyone owns at least two, I'm sure.

So which one are you? Are the one on the left? I can tell from the bushy eyebrows and the sarcastic look on your face.
Also, there are regular stormtroopers and stormtroopers with regular insignia shoulder pads due to them being in a desert (if you look at the right side of the pic, you can see some sand dunes that the AT-AT in the right background is on).
And the blue laserbolts are being shot AT them, not coming from the troopers themselves.

That doesn't look like Hoth, that looks like an all-out Imperial invasion of Tattooine to me.
Still don't get what the Royal Guards are doing there, though.

Expanded universe.
It refers to all the extraneous novels, comics, cartoon series, etc. Even though some are technically considered canon while others are not, Ady would rather stick with the established movies, ignoring all the rest. Makes sense to me.

Just putting the finishing touches to the colour correction. I have about 15 or so shots left to do. Hopefully it will be finished by the end of next week and the 1080p AVCHD version should be out a short time after. I won't be doing any FX work until after Christmas because i still need to plan a few things out and Christmas is a pretty busy time for me, so no new shots until the New Year.
As with ANH:R, will you have any collaborators onboard?

I'm looking forward to seeing how much if any of ImperialFighter's additional Star Destroyers make the final cut and if the first transport goes into hyperspace (the only suggestion I can remember actually coming up with).
Also, I'm eager to see Cloud City and what is done with the windows/balconies added/subtracted.

With the AVCHD version will the transparent hoth scenes be fixed? or is that something to be done only in the revisited version?

No. the AVCHD version will be the original 1997 theatrical version, complete with original Emperor and even the flipped insignias on the officers uniforms at the end of the movie.
after doing the colour correction i have noticed that almost all the FX shots, including those in space , are transparent. It was definitely the start of ILM doing the "we can do it this way now so lets do everything this way" scenario. why the hell the falcon is transparent in front of the stardestroyers is just silly. and you can see the TIES through the falcon at times too
They probably did the Hoth scenes first then forgot to re-set the optical printer.

Seeing that picture above, it would have been so cool to see Vader all bad to the bone like that in the OT, instead of kind of wussy and weak with just a little choke move......maybe in the new live action series that takes place between 3 and 4 we'll finally see Vader as the man...

I heard the live action TV-series will mostly have no big name characters on screen. Just as guest from time to time I think. Although Boba Fett may be one of the only well known characters to really return.
Actually, I think it is no big name actors! So, no Ewan, etc. on a regular basis. But lucky for us Vader is in a big black suit, so any tall Australian local can play him. Vader is obviously a huge part of the story between 3 and 4....check The Force Unleashed for some great hints of parts of the storyline. OK....back to ESBR....peace...
The OT was mostly largely unknown actors, so the tradition continues. :)
