Some things are subjective, others are not. Even with the same storyline, the prequel movies could have been executed better. And I don't hate them, I like I and III but think II was just a confusing mess.

Either way, the OT models and puppets were way better than the CG in the prequels. The prequels did have a lot of effects that were better than what was seen in the originals but most of those were models and puppets. The costumes and minatures like the Naboo city ended up looking great. The biggest improvement from the OT to the PT was really in the prosthetics, I think.
