I know I'm new here but I will defend Kurgan to a point: he defends his point of view.  Instead of "that's stupid" at least he backs up his reason, for good or bad.  In the end Adywan will do what he wants and whatever he does will most likely improve the PT.

Come on girls, calm down.

Y'know, I wanted Adyman to remove the sand on the Wookies foot, and he didn't. I wanted Ady to remove the snowflake on the Wookies foot, and he probably won't.

Like many have said (again and again) it's HIS edit He'll do want HE wants to do. Accept it.

For me personally, I couldn't give two hoots. As long as Fetts original voice is back, and Vader's landing on the Star Destroyer at one of the most fluid and best scenes of the film is gone, then I'll be happy. (I'm happy coz I know that's gonna happen).

I do remember as a kid watching ESB for the first time at the cinema in 80, thinking why the TIE fighters were blue-ish all of a sudden. But hey I was young and naive...what did I know...Not much more than I do now I suppose!

IMO the color or the Tie I would like is whatever color Ady wants to make it...It's his project, he's putting all the time into it so its his call. If anyone wants things any other color they can get out Microsoft paint and get busy :)

Im just glad someone has the dedication and stick-to-it-ness to make this a reality.

Thx again ADY!

Luke couldn't have a red lightsaber?

;)

(and for reference, Vader isn't Green in the comic, nor does Leia have flaming red hair, but everyone has a red saber throughout the Marvel Comics run... they were recolored to match the movies in the 1990's Dark Horse remix, though. Also Yoda was blue in the ESB series, and Jabba, irrc, was pinkish, in the ROTJ series).

(Gotta love inaccurate teasers on Comic book covers!)

I'm just teasing about the red sabers, but I thought people might need a nostalgic reminder that they weren't always blue (or even yellow)!

I like how Luke looks completely bat-sh*t insane on the second cover (wouldn't it be cool if someone did a fan film of THAT Luke Skywalker?) ... and is it just me, or does Luke look like Rowdy Roddy Piper from THEY LIVE?

You say that they should be the correct colour that the model were(even though the photography process bleaches out the light blue colouring anyway).  does that include everything then? If that's what i should do then i guess i have some more colour work to do on a certain ship then:

You know, that actually looks pretty good!  I know you want the blue because it stands out, but regardless I think either way works perfectly fine.  I think bottom line make it blue-grey - the electric blue look is what I would stay away from.

PS: regardless of the end color, have you thought of making the entire row of side lights blue?  That orange at the end kinda stands out in a wierd way.

Why does everyone in the Marvel comics look so BAD? I mean, come on! The artists must have had some reference photos, why didn't they follow them? Were they on acid?

I agree. I really like the look of that, except for the orange lights at the end.

Guys, I'm fairly sure he was kidding.

Plus the Executor looks quite silly in grey.

I think it looks great but as it's been said tonnes of times now this is Adywan's project, he's doing the hard work so he makes the choices.

This is how it will look in ESB:R. Taken from my colour corrected version:

Monroville has brought up an interesting little detail there -  Just for comparison, this shot above (as colour-corrected by Adywan) has a far less 'white'-lit front-end in the 2004 release to begin with, than that later shot showing Vader's shuttle approaching it.  The other shots of the Superstardestroyer that show the front-end of it, as seen when moving out of the asteroid field, and near the end of the movie, are lit somewhat more 'bluish' like this shot above too.

But....the shot of it just immediately before the 'Vader in his chamber' scene happens to have an obviously 'white'-lit front-end, just like in the approaching shuttle shot....

It's difficult to make out how it looks in the brief glimpses we get of the front-end of it in the 2004 release of 'Jedi', by the way, so that doesn't really help determine the colour properly.

Maybe it's something that Adywan may choose to make consistent, either by making the front-end of it 'blue'-lit in all shots too....OR making it 'white'-lit in all shots of it.

Personally, I'm okay with either way, or neither, if Ady decides to just leave the various shots alone, as I'm just happy to see the less 'electric' blue he's given the Superstardestroyer, compared to the 2004 release.  Great stuff.  :)

Well....personally I love the Gray/White Ties much better. When I was a kid I hated the one blue tie I had. It did not really go with the rest of the Empire Toys! I always had it in my mind from when I was a kid that the only reason the ties were blue is because of how "cold" Empire was and that kind of left the mood sad and cold. Does not make much sense to me though.

I still have two Tie Toys.....one is White and the other is Blue. Whenever I have put together Tie Models I always painted them gray/white. Even the Empire Ties I put together.

DIE BLUE TIES:)

I think ESB:R will greatly benfit from the color correction Ady is doing especially the changing the blue ties if he so wishes:)

See, now I think the gray Executor looks better because, being a model builder (by hobby, not by trade), my logic is that all the other SDs are grey, why shouldn't the SSD be grey also?  They're made from the same materials, and I don't think fashion is the Empire's top priority.  The SSD is meant to stand out just based on its size...I don't think anyone can mistake it for a regular SD, so why should it be a different color?

That being said, the only reason I ever accepted it as a darker color in any sense was that because it was both bigger and that most of the shots we see it in are from below, I just figured the bottom was logically in shadow because of the size.  In ROTJ, most of the shots you see it in from the top, it's grey like all the other SDs.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

I made a correction to my post here about the color saturation.

Thanks for reading!

The Executor might be dark blue on the bottom and gray on the top... or it may be that the "other" command ships (mentioned in ROTJ) are not the same color as the Executor.

However, I think the blue one in the "restored" shot looks far more badass than the "screw up" that was inserted into the 1997 Special Edition "Alert my Star Destroyer to Prepare for my arrival" scene.

I popped in the 2004 DVD the other day to view the scene, and apart from the blue tints to everything, what really jumped out at me was the overall crappiness of the CGI in that scene. It just looks bad somehow, like the rest of the 1997 CGI when viewed through the "restored" 2004 lense. Especially that shot of the Shuttle flying past the planet, which I thought looked REALLY COOL in the theater back in '97, just looks diminished now somehow.

LMAO!!!!!!! Quoted for truth!

Seriously, a lot of this "LAZERS SHOULD BE GREEN!!!" and "IT SHOULD BE GREY!" debates don't matter at all. Decisions like that are all up to Adywan. You don't like it? Make your own!
