Watch the sequence: After planting the charges, has comes running out like 50 feet away and ducks behind some reeds or something. Then we see a monstrous explosion that looks like its decimating a 1/2 mile radius at least. Then we cut back to Han, who doesn't have so much a a smudge on his face or a black puff in his foreground, his patch of reeds is completely untouched. Total continuity failure.

I've always assumed the "back-door" bunker was some distance from the main shield generator. We see the major explosion of the shield generator, but only a small explosion at the bunker.
