I think its because it's a big boy..... cough.. ok, 1008p is a big boy.

Glad to hear your progress Ady, take it easy. Hey, I was going to suggest you come to America(The land of freedom and EQUALITY) but then a certain man got elected.... It might be the other way around, better leave some space in the bed for me....cough.

Stupid post concluded.

Looks Great in other words.

Anyone else having trouble playing that clip?  VLC not only incredibly lags, but when it's not lagging, it just shows a black screen.  Do I need a new codec?

it sounds like your PC can't cope with a 1080p mkv file. try mediaplayer classic. If you have a PS3 just stick it onto a memory stick and it'll play without problem

Is this true? : D

yeh, thats true. The PT trilogy will be an even more extensive edit than the OT. Lots of new voice dubs and edits. I'm hoping to make those movies almost unrecognisable. lol

Oh yeh, i forgot to tell you guys. I had my first newspaper interview about Revisited recently and it got published today. Here is the online version:

thats great, now your trasformation to the public is complete. And sorry about that political outburst, *slaps self*

For your Prequel edit, ever thought about using Tropperman Shroud of the Dark Side as a base(whenever it's done)

Also....What "NEW" ending do you have in mind for ROTJ"Hmmm"

Sweet stuff!

I have a couple questions about ESB: I've always wondered, at the first of the movie, it shows the pod crash and the probe droid comes out, then it shows another pod crash when Luke is talking to Han on the radio. Is that supposed to be the same probe droid or did several of them land on Hoth?

Another thing, the part where they close the rebel base giant blast door, why is there such a build up to that? It seems like its supposed to be really epic.

“I plan on completing the whole saga. I haven't really made any plans for them yet apart from the fact that C-3PO won't be built by Anakin or even seen in the prequels until Revenge of the Sith, and Return of the Jedi will have a new ending,” he said.

Really?  No 3PO until RotS?  Iiiiiinteresting.  Our first clue to the extensiveness of the prequel edits.  Any more revelations you want to share with us?

I've always been under the impression that they were the same crash.  But that may be just me.

And the blast door was a big deal because Han and Luke were still out there.  It wasn't the door so much as who was outside of it.

It's the final punctuation for the series of dialogue leading up to it.  The rebels have debated up to this point whether or not there is anything more they can currently do for Commander Skywalker and Captain Solo.  They finaly decide that they have to think of what is most important, which means leaving Luke and Han's survival up to themselves.  This is a huge, heartbreaking moment for the characters involved and, just to make sure the audience knows "Yes, we are going to leave Luke and Han all alone" we have the dramatic closing of the blast doors sequence.  It leaves us wondering if there really is any hope for our two heroes and makes the revelation that they did, in fact, survive the night all the more satysfying.

Well said.

No C-3PO until ROTS? That's interesting, but how will he suddenly appear? Will he be a minor character?

A different ending for ROTJ? You must tell us more!

This stuff is way too interesting to not talk about until years later!

Thank you.

On a seperate note, I have this nagging feeling that we should be discussing any Adywan Projects that are Post ESB:R in a seperate thread.  That is, unless Adywan has no problem with it being done here.

I also was under the impression that it was the same probe droid, but it doesn't really make sense and it doesnt need to be seen crashing twice. And thanks for the clarification, Rhikter. I actually never thought of it like that, lol. I think I'm stupid haha.

Yeah, I also agree that this post ESB:R stuff is too interesting to not talk about. Someone should make a seperate thread for it maybe? Let me know!

"...and Return of the Jedi will have a new ending"

Hmm, is the Falcon gonna get blowed up? :p

I'd like to watch that Emperor clip, but VLC won't play it all the way through, Media Player Classic doesn't display a picture, and my PS3 doesn't seem to recognize it. Or maybe I'm not putting it in the right place on the memory stick or SD card? Or...does it need to be updated again?

Ok, VLC will play it, but not super consistently. Anyway, SO cool, Ady. Looks excellent. I wish you'd use that for ESB:R, but oh well. ;)

Strange that your ps3 doesn't recognise it. Have you put it in a folder called "VIDEO"? I know mine doesn't see any videos that aren't in that folder unless i have burned them to a DVD

I made a VIDEO folder on my SD card and also made sure it was in the VIDEO folder on my memory stick and it still didn't do somefin' or nuffin'. My PS3 has firmware 2.30 on it. Does it need something newer to recognize that format?

Hmmm. Thats really strange because it plays fine on mine although i have firmware 2.52 but the same file type has always played with previous firmware (although not sure about firmware as old as 2.30 though). What county's PS3 do you have? maybe best to update your firmware

Maybably I will. It'll be the second time I've ever taken it online. Haha. (first was to get the 2.30 update...) I don't have a router, so I haven't bovvered dragging the cord across the room. Wouldn't mind downloading a few demos, though.

Congrats on the newspaper interview. It's a pretty positive piece of writing considering that many people sneer at fanediting as the lowest form of flattery. I wonder what GL will make of it - if it ever makes his radar (and I can't see how it hasn't!)

Work is just flying along at the moment. I've even been able to re-create the original Emperor scene in HD for my AVCHD release of Empire. I posted the link in that thread but if anyone wants to see it then here is the link:

ESB ORIGINAL EMPEROR SCENE 1080P AC3 5.1 .ts stream

I just got to watch it, and the quality and colors are incredible, as usual.  How did you get the original Emperor to scale up to 1080p?  And are you still planning on doing the RotJ Ian McDiarmond face with the ESB:04 lips for Revisited?

Q from Star Trek-The Next Generation:

Must you be so linear, Jean-Luc?

The star destroyer launched a half dozen probes down onto the planet.  Why can't the one we saw be one of them and the one Luke saw be a different one?  A third could have been the one that saw the shield generator and the one that Han and Chewie shot could have been a fourth.

It doesn't matter which probe droid is which.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

I always got the impression that only 1 probe landed on Hoth. That's all we see.

One could even argue that what Luke saw crash is actually a meteorite, and not the probe droid. The movie is ambiguous (probably intentionally) about that.

Aside from Force visions, the timeline always moves forward in the Star Wars movies. So having the probe droid crash, then moving back in time so that Luke sees it crash, just doesn't feel right to me.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

The film clearly shows all of the probes shot out of the Star Destroyer at the beginning going off in different directions, I'm thinking one for each habitable planet in the system.

We then see one by itself, head down to the planet and impact the surface.

A few minutes later we see another object head down and impact with the EXACT SAME SMOKE PATTERN in the EXACT SAME LOCATION.

I always assumed that the opening sequence happened, then we see what we just saw from Luke's perspective.

There would be a few ways to close this up neatly:

1. If its the same impact, leave it exactly as it is.

2. If its another probe droid, have more than one headed in the same direction and head down to the planet in the opening.  Also change the smoke pattern and landing site.

3. If its just a random meteorite, everything about it should be changed (smoke, landing site, fireball).

Those are my thoughts on the subject.
