Hey Adywan,
I remember David Browse saying in an interview that the "Luke, I am your father" line wasn't the one he said during the take... in fact, the line he said to Luke/Mark was "No, Luke. I did not kill your father. Obi Wan killed your father." "NOOOOOO, THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!! etc.
You think you can maybe replace Vader's line with the one above, being that it was the original line?
I wonder how people are going to react to this one?
And for those of you who really DO get mad, have you SEEN my avatar on the left? >:)
I remember an interview stating the line went 'No Luke, Obi Wan is your father' rather than the Obi Wan killed your father one. Who knows which is true as apparently no one got a complete script for that scene apart from Mark Hamill (who had to react to the line as given to Prowse). Remember at this time, Lucas was already accusing Prowse of leaking info to the media, so was giving him false dialogue which would get the same kind of reaction to the proper stuff.
To be honest, it is the line that sets up the movie and Jedi (and, unfortunately, the prequel trilogy). If you changed it to match the alleged line, it would screw Jedi and you'd be forever wondering why Luke had gone out of his way to rescue someone who isn't his father. In addition, you'd also have to completely redo Ben's appearance in Jedi or cut him completely and also correct Yoda's final challenge to Luke on Dagobah. Far too much work, in my opinion, for an alleged line and one that would actually screw the original trilogy up.
Sorry, green lasers might be doable, but to rewrite Jedi just to accommodate the line...
In my opinion, that is...
