Pulled out my N64 the other day and plugged her into the tube. Think I am going to tackle some of my good ol oldies. Spent a few hours playing Perfect Dark, man, that game is still a hell of a lot more fun than the vast majority of games I have played in the barely less than ten years since it came out. I still feel sorry for all those people who never owned a Sixtyfour because they felt it was a kids toy, and instead hung tightly to the PSX. The 64 had many exclusive games that were just amazing, while the only exclusive PSX game that was really worthwhile was probably Final Fantasy. Most others were availible on PC and with much better graphics too.
When playing games like Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and Resident Evil 2, it is amazing to see what they could do with one of those little gray cartridges and an aging console there towards the end of the 64's life.
I have pulled out a handful of cartridges I plan to play may way through over the next few months. The games I am going to tackle are:
Perfect Dark
Goldeneye
Conker's BFD
Star Fox 64
Rogue Squadron
Shadows of the Empire
maybe Turok
and since I recently played through Resident Evil DS, I might try to tackle RE 2 on the 64, but that is a long game that I only find fun for short intervals.
