Nah, we finished all the Xmas shopping 2 months ago. best to get the pressies early before they bump the prices up for X-mas. It's too bloody expensive otherwise.
Anyway i would like to say a huge thanks to all those that have donated so far. I'm almost 3/4 of the way to getting the power pack already.

question: is the scene where the asteroid monster pops out of the cave when the millenium falcon tries to escape gonna get fixed as well? Right where the monster pops out of the cave and is extended to the best of its ability do you see a tear on the right corner.
On separate subject, did anyone see south park premiere episode last week? The one about where the kids see Indiana Jones 4? I was so laughing too hard because I knew how they felt. Still a good movie but what the hell!! (not supposed to be xfiles)

Hello,
First time on the site and of course love what you've done with ANH. I have read your proposed changes and thoroughly agree with your ideas, though there are a few other issues you may want to consider:
(1) all of the imperial craft shoot GREEN laser bolts with the exception of the hand-held blasters. It would be more consistent for the AT-ATs to shoot green lasers as opposed to the Rebel-associated red lasers.
(2) when the asteroid chase first begins, there is a peanut shaped asteroid that has a small, mysterious explosion inside a crater that occurs for no reason right before the MF and Tie fighters come around the right side of it. This could be removed.
(3) as you stated before, it would be cool to see 4 or 5 star destroyers with blinking lights or no lights at all when Luke leaves Hoth to show further ships hit with the ion cannon clearing the path for the escaping rebels.
(4) it seems you agree that the less of the Wampa the better; I would excise the "munching" scene and the very silly "wailing" scene and keep it as close to the original as possible.
Other than the 2 issues above, it appears you have a very special edit in store and I look forward to its release. The real challenge is going to be editing JEDI into something far more serious to fit better with EMPIRE.

green lasers coming out of a walker would look weird. the one asteroid that has that explosion, i think its just from laser fire.

That asteroid that has that brief flash in it at the start of the chase is from a tiny asteroid colliding with it. While there are other shots where asteroids collide and cause explosions, this tiny one just drifts into the big one and makes a big flash. It seems a bit like overkill, but it does establish quickly just how treacherous the asteroid field is -- it's not even safe for other asteroids!
While we're on the topic of asteroids, I'm wondering: what of the asteroid that's actually a sneaker that flies by? Keep it, or composite another asteroid on top of it?
