There was an article maybe at TF.N that the vintage line would be reissued. Any confirmation of this rumor?

Take a look over at www.rebelscum.com forums. There has been plenty of chat about it.

a very cool idea and no doubt a huge money maker... but im sorry nothing beats the real vinatage figures themselves...
nothing can top the old look and colours of the 1970's and 1980's action figures...

I hope they reissue them. I have some of the ones from when I was a kid, but they don't have that brand new vinyl figure smell.

I would hope that by now they would have lost that smell.

u know what?
im with hotrod... those look really bad... lol

why do they have to put them in such stupid poses?? cant they just make they're legs straight like the old ones?? man!

the only thing they have right on these figures are the packages... thats the only thing that looks vintage...
other than that, its just more money going to turkey neck to fund his altering of the trilogy... shame indeed!

I don't think it's a matter of making the figures look vintage or releasing the "best of" sorts of figures (why would a Twin-Pod Cloud Car pilot be included in that mix). It's just a way of adding some life back in to the series (and making another quick buck) by creating new packaging. I don't mind them. In fact, they look better than many of the figures that have been released lately. They've been releasing figs of such obscure characters lately, that it's gotten a bit pathetic. I welcome these. They're kinda nice.

LOL at turkey neck.

I'm with Bossk on this- some of the really obscure figures they release are just for the hardcore fans who want things like the rancor keeper. I'd like to see new renditions of classic (mainstream) figures.

i would love to buy some of them but unfortunatly i have no more room in my closet... not only do i have every micro machine of star wars made, as well as hundreds of power of the force figures and on top of that the good ol vintage guys!

if you guys wanna see a pathetic line of toys check out episode II!!
no offence to anyone who likes them but those were the biggest POS ive ever seen... lol

Episode I was even better..

But the point I'm making is that they are already releasing the OT figures.
I don't know what the line is called, but I have the new Luke Bespin figure with the hand that comes off, and the new Vader that goes with it.
They have a Han from Star Wars,Chewie, 3PO, so on and so on.
Now they are releasing them again with new packaging and calling them vintage or whatever!!

I thought they were going to be the very first figures. The ORIGINALS!!

All they are doing is releasing Luke in Tatooine gear, Again. With a hat, without a hat. With a cloak, without a cloak, but with a different weapon, or a helmet........

Han in flight gear, Again.

Leai in her white outfit, Again.

Oh and...

That Luke in Tatooine gear is just shit...

There are so many better versions of that figure available.
Why do they have to use cloth for the cloaks and shit...
It just doesn't work.
Who fucking designs these things??
Someone needs to give 'em a smack round the haed and tell them "no, no no no no"

How many more versions of the same character do they have to release!!

no doubt...

its like Malibu Stacey...
but this time with NEW HAT!!!

and people end up buying that shit... its a pure marketing ploy from the depths of Lucas himself.. lol

The problem is that there are still muppets out there who fall for these marketing ploys. Luke with disgruntled expression variant, Leia with ankle bracelet, Han Solo with 'Shoots first' gun!

I agree that the best way to get into the vintage market, which Hasbro clearly want a piece of, is to make vintage style figures of characters that were not released at the time (Tarkin, Leia in Bikini etc), whilst still be sympathetic to collectors.

Hasbro - we do not need more Lukes, or Han's! If they just read the forums once in a while they would realise this!

Thats exactly what they are doing withone of their other lines.
Star Wars saga or whatever.
General Jan Dadonna, Admiral Ozzel, all the figures you wanted as a kid but were never available.
See, I don't get it. These characters are form the OT, so why bring out a whole new set when they are still releasing figures now...

Man...I'm lost
