So i watched the movie and the first 2 episodes and they are all garbage as far as i am concerned.

Typical modern Lucas, wow look at the nice computer graphics we can do.  Asolutely without subtance just like Indiana Jones 4.  Things just get continually worse.  The star wars prequels were pretty crappy But Revenge of the Sith is worlds better than clone wars, and indiana jones IV.  Even with Harrison in that movie it is still awful.

Brings up the idea to me just how lucas would get episodes 7-9 wrong if there were made.  You would have the same actors and cgi and zero story and laughable script and dialogue.

The question is...Will you watch it next week?

Watching the first episode right now, this is pretty juvenile stuff. I never made it a point to watch the short Clone Wars cartoons, and I certianly won't take the time to watch watch this.

But for a kids show, it is not all that bad. If I was a kid between the ages of 6-11, I think I'd love it.

"The one-hour new series premiere was the #1 program from 9-10 p.m. among all major kids networks in kids 6-11, kids 2-11, tweens 9-14, teens 12-7 and persons 2+"

I am really not surprised. The "movie" did bad because parents didn't want to dish out ten dollars for a ticket. And so many people were unsure about it. The TV show was free, so anyone could feed their curiousity for free.

Not surprised it is the highest in Cartoon Network history, as it is kind of a niche station, Star Wars is a popular franchise, so I am sure it has pulled a lot of non Cartoon Network viewers in.

So does this mean the Clone Wars movie will be a 'cult-classic'.   Expect huge DVD sales then.

Mmm ....not in the UK though. We poor bastards have to subscribe to the movie channels to watch the bloody thing!

Still, I'm one of those who did take their kid to watch the film (although he fell asleep as soon as it started) and didn't think it was that bad at all. So I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing the TV series when it finally airs over here...which should be in a couple of weeks.

Awesome, everyone can log into www.originaltrilogy.com everyday to talk about all the new stuff in SW-ville that now only appeals to 5 year olds!  I waiting for you Negative 1 to start a thread on Dora The Explorer, Spongebob, and Drake & Josh so we can discuss why we all dont understand the high quality of those shows because they are loved by little kids too:)

For the record, if the PT was never made, the OT or atleast the Original Star Wars would have brought in a whole new generation of fans because the movie is timeless like The Wizard of Oz.  It would be like saying that Indiana Jones IV brought in a whole new generation of Indy fans, despite the fact that Raiders would do just fine on its own in bringing a new generation of fans in without the sequels.

there were plenty of new fans for Star Wars SE,

so that seemed to work...were those considered to be kids movies?

and i see you're still here talking about it..

and probably will even when more episodes come out..

Man I am tired of all of you fans arguing about Star Wars all the time...it's exhausting. It makes me want to leave fandom becuase none of you ever have anything positive to say. I would love to discuss Star wars with fellow fans but no one seems to like Star Wars anymore...Well I guess I can save on rent if I dump my hobby room

I thought the 2 episodes last week were pretty good. Not Original Trilogy good, but decent TV entertainment, and more watchable than Stargate Atlantis. My 5 yo son liked them too (no big surprise there).

The individuality given to the clones is interesting. For now, I can accept the stupidity of the battle droids, but I don't know how much I can take. I thought Yoda was given a much more respectable treatment than what he got in the PT - more focus on his force powers and less on jumping around.

Somewhere in this series, I might even find the Prequel Trilogy I had hoped for.

I'll be watching this.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

I wouldn't say that. It's the only (primarily) animated-based channel that has given Nickelodeon a run for its money.

My experience was similar to your own. I brought a slew of kids to see the CW movie. (I have 13 neices and nephews.)

I found it silly but also entertaining and quite enjoyable.  Maybe I was infected by the enthusiasm of the children, but we all had a great time and I really enjoyed the show.

After wathing the first two eps I can say I look forward to the rest of the series. I liked the first episode more than the second. (There was some strange logic in the second episode. People talking in space?)  And I love Asoka. I just like how she looks. I also think the actress who does her voice is doing a fairly good job.

I don't understand you analogy,  you referred to the PT bringing in a new generation of fans in the previous post, not the old movies or even the SE??????

Of course when the SE were released in 1997, a whole new generation of fans got into SW, but do you really think because Han didn't shoot first anymore, that brought them in in droves???  As I said if you want to go back and read my post again, The OT movies, or even just the Original SW would bring in a new generation of SW fans if it were the only SW movies made today.  The movies are timeless and appeal to any type of movie fan, as people like me who never really loved anything that was from the Scifi genre, ended up falling in love with the series.

And as for you smart ass remark, "well, you're hear talking about it...."  doesn't mean I think it is any good.  I log onto this site in hopes that the OOT is released on DVD in better quality then the 2006 release, or released on BluRay.  And being the SW fan that I am, I was intrigued because I did like the Clone Wars TV Series in 2003-2004 leading up to Episode III, but I watched the first two episodes, and thought they were childish beyond belief, so I am just being honest, or do I just have to hide my true feelings and say, "EVERYTHING LUCAS DOES IS GREAT:)"

Come on Negative 1 repeat after me while we all walk like zombies, "EVERYTHING LUCAS DOES IS GREAT!!!!!!!"

I also come here everyday hoping that there will be some kind of news about the OOT getting released on blu-ray. When there inevitably isn't, I stick around to discuss other OOT-related subjects with like-minded OOT fans.

It feels like this site is starting to stray from it's original spirit, and getting to be more like TFN. There are lots of forums where people can profess their love for the Prequels and SEs, but how many sites are there for OOT purists to bitch and moan without a bunch of people chiming in to inform us that there must be something wrong with us if we don't love the Clone Wars or the PT or the SEs?

It used to just be the occasional troll/threadcrapper like GoMerTonic, but it seems to be happening on a regular basis now. There seems to be an increasing level of intolerance for OOT fans here, which is very disturbing.

Maybe now there should be a separate forum on this site to discuss the Prequels and the Clone Wars, so that the PT/CW fans and the OOT fans don't have to bump into each other so often.

Just a thought.

And why do you think that is?  I use to love arguing the finer points of the movies with friends.  I use to love discussing the books, games, and movies with other people.  Now I can't do it without someone making a comment about the PT.  They might love it, but I don't and I have plenty of reasons for not, so that ends the conversation.  If they hate it, then we end up with points of agreement.  In either case, we end up moving on to other subjects because its been talked about to death.

No one likes Star Wars anymore because it's a stupid kids show now.  It would be like talking about Pokemon.  Adults simply wouldn't do it.  Even if you love that show (I liked it before I had kids) you're not going to get into a deep conversation about it.  Same goes for Star Wars now.

thanks for generalizing everyone to death...

there's plenty of adults that want to talk about, and will keep talking about it,

no matter what you think.. i personally think they're pretty good, and will just

keep on improving.

keep repeating this to yourself in a zombie tone... it's ONLY A KIDS SHOW, ITS ONLY A KIDS SHOW..

and then you keep talking about it yourself...

this episode was even better than the others..

the 2nd part of the 3 series arc..

======================================

so many cool things..

lots of battles

the shadow squadron

of course, lots of general grievious..

and more people dying, explosions, and death.

yeah, and i like how in the first few minutes,

the empire talks about killing off 60000 people.

so, thats what they do in kids show nowadays? , HA HA, LOL..............

this episode had a lot of intensity, new characters, creatures,

and the return of  few familiar ones.. and lots of classic lines,

'i have a bad feeling about this'.... the battle droids weren't

even that annoying...

so far, to me, this blows away the old 2d version...

and next week, the finale..

i think i'll go back, and watch it again !!!!
