Is it true they are going to premiere with 2 episodes back to back?

Author

Who knows.

But i do know in the UK, they are showing the TV series on the Movies channel. Which is great if you subscribe to the movie channel, but sucks if you don't.

Lucky for me, I do.

From what i've gathered there's an episode about Yoda and a handful of troopers and another about GG. But yeah let me know when you find out, That would be great.

i'm going to avoid any spoilers about the plot though..

Well we already know the destination [rots]. I just Hope the journey is worth sticking with!

sidenote, I've noticed that they screen Cartoon Network at McDonalds pretty much 24/7....If anyone gets desperate they just need to work out what time to go on a cheeseburger mission.

My DVR shows two episodes tomorrow night.  I'll give it a shot.  It's free, so it'll at least be worth that.

Yeh when i heard about that i was pretty annoyed that yet again we get screwed over here while everywhere else it seems you can watch it for free. I subscribe to the HD package so i'll be able to watch it in HD, but putting it on the movie channels is a total kick in the teeth for UK star wars fans that have sky but not the movie package.

I'm sure this stuff will pop up on the internet but it'd be nice to hear that either starwars.com or cartoonnetwork or even hulu will put them up to watch as a stream. With no cable or satellite TV, I'll be left in the dark.

last friday they did and interview. each week's supposed to be a different genre. there will be the cutsy kid ones, but also the more mature and darker ones. i'm glad they're mixing it up. i wonder if it will somewhat falling in place with the clone wars graphich novels and regular novels.

Wow, sounds just like the PT, one moment fart joke, the next the mass slaughtering of children. [GL voice]This is a kid's movie, it always has been a kids movie, it is made for kids, adults just don't want to accept that, that is why they don't like Jar Jar, it reminds them that this movie is made for kids... this is a more mature film with much more serious romantic scenes so that young teenage boys will be able to get their girl friend to go see it in the theater with them. Oh yeah, and then there is this scene where a kid watches his mom die, then murders a whole community of humanoid lifeforms. And finally, there is a scene where a little child sees his father decapitated by Samuel L. Jackson. I always kind of wanted to explor the theme of kids watching their parents die, and I thought, hey, it really works for this movie, so I went with it... this is an even more mature film, intended for kids, featuring our hero murdering many children who think he is there to help them, but it is okay because he murdered them in order to save his wife, whom he loves very dearly. Oh yeah, then later he decided to kill her and their unborn child as well, just for the hell of it. Oh yeah, then his best friend cuts off all of his appendages and watches as he bursts into flames and slowly and painfully sinks into a pit of lava. Oh, and finally, to top it all off, his wife lived long enough to give birth to her baby, who just so happened to be two babies, and while there was nothing physically wrong with her, she decided the two little bastards were not worth living for and simply died just for the hell of it, leaving the two new borns orphaned.[/GL voice]

Good quality children's programming through and through. I am most certainly looking forward to the Clone Wars series continuing this trend. One episode they will save Jummyuka, the Kashyykian flying squirrel who falls out of tree and breaks his arm, his dream is to fly again, and with the encouragement and some light hearted lessons from our Jedi friends, Jummyuka's wing heal and the episode ends with him flying off into the sunset. Next episode, Anakin is forced to cut the antenna off of a community of Rodians for failing to cooperate with some Jedi investigation, meanwhile, back on Corescant, Obi-Wan and Mace Windu are forced to torcher some Ithorians who were discovered to have been helping the Seperatists.

Whoa, I just realized that Luke watched evey one of his parents/parenting figures die. In ROTS baby Luke witnesses Padme's last breath, in ANH he sees the charred remains of the people who raised him, then he sees his new mentor Obi-Wan cut down, later, not that he had known Yoda long enough to grow too fond of him, but I am sure watching him suddenly die for no reason must have added salt to the wound, and finally in ROTJ he is reunited with his long lost father, only to watch him die and have to burn his remains. Sucks.

Yeah agreed, I don't mind cutesy moments, It IS a show for kids after all - but i'd like somewhat of  a consisent flavour at least.

Kind of like the Original Clone wars series managed, Which George NOW refers to as a pilot / concept for the 3d series.

C3PX,

That post was genius. I’m in a big office right now, and suppressing the laughter was painful.

Thanks for brightening up my day!

^ Sorry about that man. I know how embarrassing it is when you are around a lot of people and suddenly burst out in laughter. Especially when you are at work reading a SW forum (we've all done it).

"What's so funny?"

"Oh, un nothing..."

"Well your laughing pretty hard for nothing"

"Well, yeah, you see I was at this Star Wars site... err, I mean... someone emailed me a joke.

"Alright, if its so funny let's hear it!"

"Uh, well, it was this really raunchy and inappropriate sex joke, I'd really be too ashamed to repeat it, sorry...

Bear, only five posts since May 2007? I lurked at this place for a few years before registering, but really, don't feel shy to posts thoughts or ideas or even start new topics. Any discussion is welcome. If you read here very often, you'll see that all discussion tends to be the same small group of us constantly saying and posting the same things, so new people are more than welcome. That is not to say that you are not welcome to lurk though. :)

Aside from being funny, this really does make me wonder. What happened to the George Lucas that wanted to make a movie with clear morals where you can root for the "good guys"?

If they could have kept this looking gritty and realistic looking like the oot, and have that Live action feel to the 3D rendered animation as well as a good story and that Classic 77 lived in look of the old spaceships i would be the first to hail it as a return to form.  Sadly it continues the same Bad Prequel Characters we hate like Anakin Emo Goth Wannabe, and bad cgi wooden animation and incredibly awful plot and voice acting.

The should have Done a show based in the new republic era or a anthology series drawing from all the Different eras and not Only Focus on Jedi, sith or the Skywalkers.

The Skywalker story is sacred to the fans and Lucas fucked it over by first not making 7-9, and producing awful cringe worthy prequels unworthy of the name star wars.

Hey at least the 2010 or whatever year the live action show is coming out won't further ruin the Skywalker clans storyline, as if any further ruin could be produced.  He will further wreck Boba Fett for that show, but I don't see that prequel character as fett only the oot one so i don't care what he shits all over.

ok,

watched the first episode, i don't want to spoil it for those who haven't

seen it....

but i really liked it, apart from a few scenes (very brief involving the

battle droids) the rest of it was great..

i knew yoda was powerful, and we saw parts of that in the prequels,

but here you get a really good idea of just some of the power he really has!!!!

the last part of the episode was exciting and full of action.... ok, onto

episode 2 shortly...

any other thoughts , ABOUT THE SHOW, i mean............ahem..

the second one was okay, the republic ships getting rip to shreds though was awsome looking. asoka though makes the show really cutesy. I liked the first one the best with master yoda. The clones are so much like they are in the novels. can't wait til next weeks episode.

well,

i like the 2nd episode a lot also.. it had a lot of very cool moments in it...

new characters, a lot more in depth about the clone warriors..

and the ships looks really cool...

and the return of a lot of favorite characters..

so far, it seems like a really good start..

I watched it- it was OK. I'll never get used to Yoda doing somersaults. The dialogue between Anakin and Ashoka was pretty awful. [paraphrasing]"Well, if I'm going to get in trouble for something, I want you to be there too!" yuk, yuk, yuk.

I'm not sure what everyone's problem with Anakin and Ashoka's interactions is.

The writing therein is much better than most animated series these days. Especially those found on Cartoon Network. It wasn't awful, it was tolerable, and even acceptable, because it seemed like fun little conversations two people such as them in that situation would actually be having. Anakin's padawan isn't sophisticated. She's a teenage girl. And a very believable one at that.

I mean seriously. What the hell would you have them saying? Completely humorless, inane technological Star Trek dialogue?

It was definitely a step up from the dialogue of the PT. And this is coming from a traditional Star Wars fan.

Anyway, series is off to a good start. Nothing too exceptional yet, but still good enough for me to catch the next episode.

Acually, I think I would prefer that. I think it would be more palatable if they didn't try to be funny at all, than attempting to be funny and failing.

Up to speed now. The only thing i don't really like is the battle droids, I just find them really annoying, And I never really found Jar Jar all that annoying. I just hope they don't get this much screen time every episode...

Count me out from Star Trek dialogue in this series.

Anyway. I sorta like their quasi-flirtatious relationship. It's cute, and funny to me.
