Looks awesome!
The 2004 DVD looks like an '80s VHS and your version looks brand new.
excellent.

I think you need to work on the colour of Yoda's eyes still.

I have to agree with AM; his eyes look the same shade as his skin, which I don't think they were originally (and certainly aren't in the PT) and I don't think looks as real.
The part that should be white is greenish-grey and the part that should be emerald green is a dark brownish-green.

It may have worked, but is totally unnecessary. ;) VLC has no problems playing .mkv.

I think Adywan may/might be adding eye blinks and minor CG to Yoda's facial expressions - he said he was gonna do a test shot first to gauge what everyone thinks.
So the whole point of the split screen was to show how blue everything was in the 2004 DVD and how much work he has meticulously done to improve the colours back to normal.
FX work on the eyes etcetera will probably come later.

IF YOU ARE ON A MAC YOU CAN ALSO USE VISUAL HUB TO CONVERT THE FILE TO MANY OTHER FORMATS.

I don't see anything wrong with his eyes and they certainly aren't the same colour as his skin. his eyes are green/hazel not emerald green. I think it might be to do with having the comparison added with it and the compression blurring colours. here's a new file but without the video of the original 2004 colouring
Yoda - Revisited colouring only.
Everything looks great. I still can't believe I never noticed that Yoda glows blue, almost like he's already a Force ghost.
I love seeing the previews/teasers. Keep em coming!

OK. your wish is my command. lol
Here's another comparison but this time its a Bespin scene. Enjoy (oh and ignore the scrap room scene because the colour isn't finished yet & there's a glitch in the colour correction in one shot that drops the brightness for a frame, but i'll be fixing that.)
Oh sorry, yeah you're right about the eye colour, but the part that should be white in the eye has a greenish tint to it if you wanted to recolour that part? I dunno, just my two cents. But it does look fantastic nevertheless and I'm excited to see some CG in Yoda.

Adywan is like my personal genie, for this is not the first time he has followed my suggestions in the same day (see June 12, 2008: Adywan posts a split screen comparison because I suggested it).

doubleofive, do you have to rub Adywan's lamp for him to follow your suggestions?
Oh, man! Don't go there!
A little nagging thing that I think needs to be addressed:
Yoda's forefinger wobbles a bit as he unclenches his fist as he says "feel the Force around you..." I mean, I have no problem with Yoda's ears wobbling, but his finger wobbling as he unclenches his fist feels a little too 'dejarik table' to me.
And to think I only noticed this bug as I was watching it a minute or two ago. It should be a cinch to address.

The wobbling finger was a deliberate descision made to help Yoda appear extremely old. He has "Jedi Osteoporosis" and his bones aren't what they used to be.
Just wanted to say....looking good as always.....peace....
Ditto. Another terrific preview. Great stuff.
That Yoda comparison was amazing. I think the color correction is likely the most significant part of this project. I am one of the unlucky people who first saw the OT as the 2004 DVDs. I think that the proper coloring brings a whole new magical feel to this film as apposed to the drab and simultaneously oversaturated color abomination that is the 04 DVDs.
Great work again Adywan! :-)
Amazing work, Ady! What's next on the list?
