STAR WARS DVDs, PLEASE HELP

Wow I had no clue it would be this hard to find the OT on dvd.   I feel a little bitter-sweet when it comes to Star Wars. I love the OT, but I cant stand the prequels or the "enhanced" versions of the OT.  After searching the net and reading article after article all I have to say is George Lucas is a fatheaded A$$HOLE.  "But the enhanced versions represent his vison of star wars" Well SO %$#@ING WHAT?!!  It's like if Pink Floyd suddenly decided to remake Darkside Of The Moon with banjos, and pulled all the originals off the shelf.   Why is it that we can buy movies from the 1930's on DVD but cant get the most popular movies of all time on DVD without a display ratio problem.   I dont own any Star Wars movies on dvd yet.  And I need some help picking out which ones to buy, if any.  I dont want the enhanced versions or the prequels.  Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

You have two (legal) choices.  Buy, or don't buy.

They are re-releasing the OT again, with the Original OT as a bonus feature.  Now these are pretty low quality Laserdisc transfers, but they are the only offical way to have the OOT.

I would buy that set, which theoretically justifies all of the fan edits on this site, then watch those.

I agree with doublofive first buy the GOUT on dvd and then go and watch ADMs fan edits and ADYWANs edit of A New Hope. Heres a link to the fan edits at http://fanedit.org/all-star-wars-fanedits/

If BOBILLBAJO doesn't like the SEs, he's probably not going to be a fan of Adywan's edit of SW.t.

I'd stick with the GOUT, BOBILLBAJO.

Like doubleofive said, they're being released in a boxed set in November, and they may look acceptable to you, depending upon your TV.
