Well, I just spend the last forty minutes playing the PS2 version of The Force Unleashed. It really isn't as bad as it could have been (at least the PS2 version), but really isn't all that great either. Since the PS2 is the lastest and greatest console I own, and since not a whole lot of new games come out on it, it is kind of cool to have something new and entertaining for that system.
It is really just a button masher, played it for forty minutes and never once worried about my life bar, seemed like it was pretty much always full, just ran around pressing buttons and killing people until I got bored and shut it off. So far the storyline is about ten times more entertaining than anything in the prequels. It was really cool that the opening level depicted Darth Vader actually hunting down Jedi, something I really had always thought we'd get to see in the PT. The idea of him having a secret apprentice with the name Starkiller who he uses for hunting down Jedi so he doesn't have to do it himself is all kind of lame. Believe it or not, it really does feel slightly reminiscent of the older LucasArts titles; for some reason it really brought back memories of Tie Fighter, simply because you are going around killing Rebels, also reminds me a lot of Jedi Outcast for obvious reasons, though it is not half as fun as either of those games.
And I cannot believe how good it feel to see some damn Stormtroopers again! So sick of Clone Troopers... Seeing OT style Imperial Crusers, Tie Fighters and other ships adds a lot of coolness to it.
The visit to Kashyyyk was cool, since in the PT all you get to see of the planet is a cartoon like CG blur.
On the other hand, I played a few seconds of the Nintendo DS version, and it absolutely sucked, like most DS games do. The stylus is the dumbest form of control imaginable. If you could use the buttons, and the DS has plenty of buttons to go around, I think it would have been a lot more fun. But tapping the action you want to do with the stylus is pretty retarded.
So anyone played any of the real versions of this game, for PS3 or Xbox?
