I'll join you as a seed. I was putting a torrent together when I saw this. However, I also have crap upload speed.

**EDIT** And now the real reason I checked back in this thread... For what it's worth, ImgBurn didn't give a good copy of the disc for this. I am the proud owner of a fairly expensive coaster. Nero6 seems to have worked fine, though.

You must have done something wrong because Imgburn was used to create the Iso file (you did select the .mds file when burning didn't you?). I have burned 2 copies so far from the image and i had no problems.

im putting a torrent up on demonoid if thats ok with ady if not just let me know

if u have an nfo or anything u want added to the text just ask

yeh the nfo was posted to a.b.starwars with the fileset. it has all the information i would like put with the torrent, if possible (the info on demonoid doesn't mention that the main audio is the laserdisc 5.1 mix, and not the crap 2004 mix, and that there are english and dutch subtitles too)

I wasn't listed as a seed until I got the one piece that didn't hash right. Ironically, since this was the .mds file, it probably caused my bad burn (and yes, Adywan, I did select the .mds file). At any rate, I'm limiting all other torrent activity until this one gets going. I'm currently showing ~20 kB per second, and that's probably the best I can give. Of course at that rate, Adywan will have finished the rest of the saga before I send out a complete copy ;-)

All I can say is "You've done it again, Ady". It looks absolutely fantastic and this is probably the most accurate version of SW we'll ever see in hi-def. Thanks for sharing this with us.

By the way, I used IMGBurn and it worked perfectly FWIW.

I burned it on a mac using Toast, no problemo.

I love it. You gave Lucasfilm a kick in the ass, can't wait for Empire. (is the laserdisc audio the one with Luke screaming on the way down? I get the versions mixed up)

Looks like i pissed off a Lucas fanboy over at demoniod. he he

I don't wish to complain, nice up BUT.......

I think the only person that should be allowed to do the edits should be george lucas himself.

When fans suddenly start deciding what THEY want in a particular version of the movie then it will lead endless uploads of what fans have decided should or should not be edited in or out.

What if i wanted this WITH the Han/Greedo shooting scene included, what gives you the right to decide that i can not see this?

This is the start of a slippery slope, adjust the colours fine but do not start editing movies to suit your own personal preferences.......leave that decision with the viewer.

I was 9 when i saw this movie in 1977 and been a fan ever since. like many people i thought the special editions had good and bad points to them but i would NEVER upload a copy cutting out the bits i didnt like!

Sorry to rant on....just my opinion....like i said anyway, thank for the upload. ;)

Well i've managed to get hold of a copy of TPM laserdisc from ebay, so that should be here within the next couple of weeks and i can start on the theatrical version of that soon.. These may be released out of order because the colour correction on Empire is a little more extensive because i will be using that for my Revisited edit. Luckily Jedi doesn't need much done to it at all as the colours don't suffer with the blue tint like the other OT ones.

You should send him a link to Revisited.

His head will explode.

Yeah, once he's watched THAT, he might completely rethink his position on 'fan edits'!  :)

Eh, the demonoid guy seems more like the type to complain that Lucas always envisioned the "dinosaurs" in "mos eisleley" ;-)

Hey Ady,

Just wanted to say thanks for your hard work.  Used Image Burn and works just fine on my ps3. I still prefer watching revisted but the image quality on this is pretty darn good. Thanks again

pjvader,

Next time, please just upload the release as it was released. You should of uploaded the rar files instead of the one big compiled iso file.

It makes it much easier for people to download and prevents lots of other potential problems

Were there any distinctive changes made to the laserdisc track?, or was it simply synced up to the 2004 video?

my rars were corrupted i had to use all the pars and repairs had a nightmare to extract it! (thank u giganews :(  )
if u have unrarred it and still have the files just point your torrent to the iso file directory and it should work that way too it worked for the other seeders

I just synced it to the 2004 transfer & cut greedo shooting. nothing else was changed

Ah, excellent, so I can quite bugging you about getting the 5.1 laserdisc rip. :)  Nice up, Adywan.  I'll seed it almost indefinitely.

This is the reason why I didn't seed it.  I downloaded it via the a.b.s ng, but because I am using my external drive to store it, which I RARELY disconnect from my laptop, I wanted to leave it in .rar format.  This allowed me to copy half of the rars onto a flash drive at a time to take to my desktop to burn.

All very complicated but I won't extract it from the .rars onto my external.

I downloaded this hoping that for now, I can play it on my computer, and eventually, when I get a PS3, I can play it on that.  I tried to mount the .iso into Alcohol 120%, which should create a new virtual drive and let me access the files in the iso, but when I click on the new virtual drive, all I get is a windows box saying: "Windows cannot read from this disk. The disk might be corrupted, or it could be using a format that is not compatible with windows."

I have checked google, and a few others also seem to have an issue with accessing AVCHD files on thier computers, with the same error message. Can't find a solution, though. I understand I will need software that will play this file, but windows should at least let me see the file there. I have mistakenly downloaded mac files before, and of course Windows didn't know what to do with it, but I could see the file on my computer. Alcohol has always worked for me before when mounting iso files. I don't want to burn this to a DL DVD, and still have my computer not read it. As far as Windows knows, there is a burned DVD now in my virtual drive, so if I burn it to DVD and physically put it into my dvd drive, the same error message would likely come up. Anybody have any ideas?

I did see the sample video in .ts format, though, and it looked fantastic. Nice to see the color correction applied, Adywan. I have wanted to see the original in HD, but didn't think I could deal with that horrible blue cast. My preferred version will always be Revisited, though.

Thanks, Adywan! That did the trick. I should have known you'd have the answer. If you can manage to author the DVD DL of Revisted, I 'm sure you know your way around codecs and stuff. I wish the video would play smoother, though. My computer has a real hard time with 1080P. It handles 720P fine, though. By the way, when I play it in Media Player Classic, I get an extra set of black bars, which are lighter than the rest of the black area, like what is filling in the space between the 2:35:1  image and where a 16:9 image would be. If I play it in VLC, those bars are solid black, and looks much better, without the lighter black inner bars. I couldn't seem to find any adjustment in settings to fix that - is there no way to black out those bars in MPC?

I just had to say again what a phenomenal job you've done on the Revisited DVD, and I, like everyone else here, can't wait to see what you do with Empire. You've set the new standard to which all fanedits will compare.

You probably need a faster CPU.  My dual core at home can play this just fine (Athlon x2 6000), but the one at work chokes from time to time (Athlon x2 3800).  Mine does the same thing with the black bars at home (4:3 monitor), but at work I seem to remember that there were none (widescreen monitor).  I can't check that right now, but I think it is related to having a regular vs widescreen monitor.
