Hoping to start my Fan edit of 007 Warhead. But I can't seem to get the dvd footage to FCP to edit. Anyone care to share some tips on getting dvd footage to a format FCP will edit?

Use MPEG Streamclip to export your ripped VOB(s) or m2v(s) to your choice of codecs that FCP can work with (Sheer, DV, Motion JPEG, Amimation, etc...). Create a new timeline in FCP with your chosen codec, frame rate, frame size, etc. and edit away...

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.

Great now it's saying I need a Mpeg 2 codec? Which apple want 20 bucks for! Is this worth it? Also, what is the best quality FCP compatible format to convert it too. I want to keep as much quality as I can.

Try using VDubMod instead.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

The MPEG2 codec is included with FCP. If you paid for FCP and have a valid license it should not be an issue. Otherwise, you're on your own. The best quality FCP compatible codec would be SheerVideo.
