Idea: 'Avatar - The Last Airbender' Pilot Project

Hey,

As the last episode of this fantastic show has recently premierd. I was thinking recently regarding the pilot of this show. Though it premiered on a DVD, sadly they placed a mandatory commentary track over the actual episode.

So while your trying to watch and enjoy the pilot, you hear the director/producer chatting away. I was wondering, would it be possible to remove or lift the commentary from this episode and therby allowing viewers to watch the pilot episode as it was meant to be seen?

I know it cannot be done with 100% results, but I am sure with the right editing job, someone can produce a pretty good finished result.

Thanks

I love Avatar! I really hope the film project doesn't end up with Shyamalan though... he's not the right fit.

Anywho, I can't see how you'd remove the commentary unless there's another source for the pilot or it's very similar to the final version. In which case I couldn't see the point in doing it. I haven't got the DVDs yet, how does the pilot differ?

Anybody but rammalammadingdong would be a better fit for the film.

That being said even Filoni could fuck it up look at Clone Wars, ugh.

Get somebody like Genddy if it is animated.  IF live action don't do it at all all we need is hollywood butchering another anime film or tv series.

If it is live action Don't let a producer fiend like Spielberg near it as he had not made a good film in over ten years, possibly twenty.  And whatever you do don't hire a hack like MIchael Bay to ruin the movie.

I'm a HUGE avatar fan, and I agree whole heartedly that the pilot would be a great find minus the commentary. It's animated and has a different voice actor for Aang. As with any pilot there are some slight changes here and there from the final product. On the DVD set the pilot's included but the commentary runs with the audio and I've no clue how you'd go about separating the two. Would love to see it though.
