hey all
i watched these movies and i wanted the time spent watching them back these were terrible movies…would it be possible to recut these into watchable films…such as with x-files 2 it could be recut into 2 or three tv episodes that would best suit them and with mummy 3 a complete overhaul to match the first and second movie such as taking out maria bello and have more action in it…i know its possible to turn two terrible movies into something watchable…

I really hope you didn't watch the mummy 3 expecting something good. When I first saw the trailer i thought it looked interesting...right up to the end where i saw the directors name - Rob Cohen. I that precise point i expected it to be a waste of time. I will watch it at some point and may well enjoy it somewhat...but i wont get excited for it.
Have you considered maybe combining elements of the 2nd and 3rd mummy films - I don't know the general consensus but the 2nd film felt 'cheap' to me.
I also like your idea of presenting X-files 2 as a few episodes. have you planned anything out or are you just thinking out loud at this point?
yea mostly thinking out loud....but it would be possible to turn the xfiles 2 into 3 forty min episodes that would be like they ran out of little green alien ideas.....
as for mummy 3 it could techincally be recut but it would involve huge reams of footage being taken out just to make it presentable......

x-files 2 could be cool as episodes. I personally liked the film. I think the biggest problem with it was the score. Usually I like Mark Snow's music, but I thought he sucked for this film. Several of the cues didnt seem to match the feel of the movie at all. I had some ideas for an edit that I'll probably get to next year. mostly just replacing the score, and recutting a few things.
