its arguments like this where I stop paying attention to this thread lol...

hard to keep up with people are just opining. it's all irrelevent to an extent... no offence guys but... it's up to ady.. the only thing we can do is suggest and if he says "no," he says no..

all the opinions are kinda irrelevent in that light because all that matters is ady's...

And to be honest, saying something as vague as "the intereiors look boring. Add things like in the prequels," frankly... confuses me... I have NO idea what you're talking about to begin with... and seconly ... like what? What do you add to the interior of Hoth?

This is an attempt to reedit the final scene in The Empire Strikes Back with the final shot being Luke, Leia, 3P0 & R2 looking out the window instead of the ship taking off. This has been done to match the other endings for the Star Wars films. The edits are a little jarring and I know the transition used to begin the credits in played in reverse.

1 - He could speed up the parts where they fight, and keep the original speed when it slows down and they talk. In that way it keeps its emotional ebb and it would be so much more intense.
What about adding 'Battle of the Heroes' then (or another good song)? Adywan is considering it :D I hope he does add it!

Dude, just... no.  In ESB, Luke is still a rookie, and his fight with Vader shows that he's greatly unmatched at this point.  Making it into some gradious battle just wouldn't make sense.  Maybe by the end of ROTJ, but not at this point.  Gotta keep it simple; the way it was originally is perfect.

Darrell, your edit ain't half bad!  It's mostly because it uses one of my favorite SW music pieces.

Not to continue the "change-a-thon" but most certainly, I've always been annoyed at the scene in TESB when the falcon does a flip around the cloud and heads back to get Luke, the cloud in the fore ground wasn't matted properly and the falcon is in front of the cloud when it actually should be behind it.

Anyone remember or notice what I'm talking about?

I don't think this was mentioned before, so I'll say it:

After the droid attaches Luke's new hand, the next shot you see it in, it's turned off. It just seems kind of weird that he is just turned off at that point. Maybe make his eyes dim gradually until they are off during that shot so it won't be so abrupt.

The one with R2 and 3PO looking out the window, yea... it shows it turned off. I think it's a pickup shot. It looks COMPLETELY different than the other shots... like... different quality...

Almost like how in ROTJ, certain shots look lamost like they were recorded on an old cam-corder, and not a camera...all grainy and out of focus.

As for the cloud, I made a suggestion that the cloud as the falcon spins around it have a whisp come off and go with the falcon... I could just ammend the suggestion to mention that too

I've always wondered about that. It's so strange and stands out like a sore thumb! But it was obviously a conscious decision, right? Right? :p

I'm fine with this coming out as late as May of 2010, it would be nice to have it come out the 30th aniversary of ESB.

Ok, I'm convinced because he's outmatched. But it will still be great if he added some music (Battle of the Heroes) :)

Why would you reuse prequel music AGAIN???

The ESB soundtrack is the best one, don't change things that work.

And what would you change in the ships? All you get to see are walls and a display that shows a shield generator... the display looks fine to me and I don't think the walls looked that much different in the prequels either...

i agree here. the silence of lightsaber fights hightens the tension, especially as the music is the hum of the sabers. i did try putting the music from the throne room from ROTJ in there on movie maker and it worked well, but not as well as it being quiet.

im hoping that in adys prequel edits he trys having the musicless lightsaber fights, would be interesting.:)

I already brought up the adding music stuff to ESB when this thread started, Ady clearly stated he only added the music to the Obi/Vader fight as a way of bridging the prequels and that he would not add any to Empire. Really,I do wish some people would read the thread a bit before tossing out ideas, especially the ones that lead to unnecessary arguments.

Oh cant wait for updates from Ady, please let them arrive soon... : )

Yeah, I'm starting to feel like this thread is filling up with suggestions just for the sake of saying something, not because it would be a real improvement.  Empire needs the least amount of cleanup, and what changes it does need are more technical than artistic.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

Agreed, well said : ) I await Ady's return with new goodies but other than that the real "how-to-fix" stuff wont come till Jedi.

just in defence of my point, i was just throwing out the idea that the PT lightsaber should not have music like the OT, so we dont need to suggest adding music as it may not be different by the time we see PT:Revisited!

i agree that the same things seem to get recycled which gets a tad annoying.

When was that? I never noticed anything like that.

could it be zoomed in footage? like shrinking in on what was already filmed?
