The SNES will always be to me the greatest system ever made. The first time I saw one in action at my friends house I was dumbfounded. The only game he had was Super Mario World, and I just couldn't get over the detailed graphics and the amazing colors. The way Mario's hat would fly up in the air a bit as he fell and the dust that came up from his feet as he made a quick stop. The characters were so detailed and they had such depth to them. I remember I'd dream about getting my own SNES and wake up to realize it was only a dream and I'd feel so disappointed. When I finally got my own I was really excited. The SNES era was the hight of gaming for me, I can never imagine getting immersed in a video game again like I did when playing A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Star Fox, or Super Metroid. Even the N64 and the novelty of playing as these characters for the first time in 3D wasn't quite equal to the excitment of going from playing Zelda in 8bit to playing Zelda in 16bit.

And yeah, the Super Star Wars games are crazy hard. One of my buddies bought a GameGenie, and the first thing we did with it was stay up late beating Super Star Wars straight through from start to finish. As hard as Super Star Wars and Super Empire Strikes Back were (Super ROTJ was a breeze in comparison), the NES counter parts made them feel really easy. Empire Strikes Back for the NES was one of my favorite games on the system, countless hours wasted, and I never managed to get off of Dagobah.
