it might actually be wat we've been waiting for! why make each episode of the OT two discs?
Uh, for the same reason they did so for the 2006 individual releases: to include both SE and Original Theatrical (2 discs) in a single package.
Folks, if you are even remotely hopeful that these will include the OOT in an improved state, you are lightyears more optimistic than i could ever be!
I have seen no reason to believe these aren't the 2006 discs in a new package.
My thoughts exactly auximenies. This wont be anything more than the old discs repackeged in a brand new box-set. It breaks my heart to see people getting all excited about this, thinking we might get the OOT in anamorphic or even a CG Yoda in TPM but sadly I can't see that happening. This is nothing more than the now yearly re-release.
2004: 4 disc cardboard boxset with bonus disc released in September
2005: 3 disc cardboard boxset without bonus disc released in December
2006: Individual 2 disc Limited Edition's of the Trilogy released in September, Limited Edition 6 disc metal boxset released in December.
2007: 4 disc metal boxset with bonus disc released in November (UK only)
2008: 6 disc OT boxset released at the same time as a 6 disc PT boxset in November
Going on past releases, if there was anything new in this set it would be released in September.

The Clone Wars is been marketed like Prequels. GL and his crew were trying to made Prequel-like money off The Clone Wars...
but then....

The Clone Wars failed and people do not like it....
so, maybe GL and his crew are now falling on plan B.
Plan B: to release the new versions of the Prequel Trilogy and the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD.
think about: one week after The Clone Wars failed, now like magic we are hearing about new box sets.
think about 2: GL's The Clone Wars Christmas sale plans are gone, now like magic we are hearing about new box sets.
Interesting idea Hunter6, but TF.N posted this news back on July 27th, almost 3 weeks before TCW was released and got bad reviews.
Sorry to be so negative people (and I'm so sorry for posting a link to TF.N) but I just can't see this being anything new.
Of course, If I'm wrong I'll gladly eat my words and give everyone here a million points*
*Note: Points are only imaginary and are worthless in value. You wont actualy recieve anything.
