ok, i'm having a short break from making my Darth Vader costume for the kids party so i can finally reply to some of the posts:

an interesting idea but i won't be adding any TIEs until the Falcon escape scenes. Don't forget that Vader has tricked Lando into thinking that the Empire won't be taking over Cloud City at first. so seeing TIE's or other imperial ships would take this deception away.
I also won't be adding any imperial ships to any of the shots where Luke approaches Bespin. It's supposed to be a trap so i think Vader would have ordered any ships to remain hidden.

I think that the Executor would probably be a lot further back from the blockade. I will be doing something with this shot, but i think that Hoth should still be in shot
also the idea of the ships shooting off into hyperspace (sorry i can't remember who suggested this) is a pretty good idea. i may include this. i also like the PSYCHO_DAYV's idea of one of the X-wings being destroyed to add to the peril of the escape, as it does look a bit too easy as it stands now.
Also i don't think the stardestroyers should be in any sort of formation in the Exector reveal scene.
But the shot where we see the full Executor for the first time, they have omitted the third stardestroyer in that shot as has been pointed out, so it will have to be fixed and the position of the stardestroyer underneath is wrong compared to the previous shot. they all have to be fixed.
Now as to the colouring of the Executor. the original Blue colour always looked best so i will be keeping it blue (just not as much as it is in the 2004 transfers). the TIE's on the other hand will have their colour changed to light grey/blue. the change in colour will be more explained in ROTJ:R when you will see that the death star TIE's are all grey, whereas the the stardestroyer TIEs will have the slight blue tint to them. But all this may change when i get around to the FX work. Recolouring things can look very fake so, because many of the shots in ESB have the TIEs as grey, if there are any colouring problems then they will have to go back to all being grey. i would rather have the bland grey look than a fake recolour job that looks like the recoloured black & white movies. even using overlays can cause a lot of problems due to the framing of the movies in the GOUT compared to that of the 2004 set. using the GOUT for many of the chase sequence just wouldn't be possible.
But after all i have to remind people that i'm not doing a restoration at all so the colouring does not have to be the same. This is a re-imagining of the saga. If i was doing it as a restoration then it would be of the OOT not the SE

I noticed something with the color correction, in a few of the videos that were posted. I don't know if these were intended to be the final shots or if they have been corrected.
The hue of the Snowspeeder pilots costumes is not consistent between every shot. Some times, the costume is much too red. The real flight suit (pants) had a mid-orange hue with no shift towards red. The jacket should have largely the same orange hue as the pants (coveralls) but be only slightly less saturated, except on Dagobah where the jacket gets darker because it gets wet and dirty. If the jacket has a shift from orange, it is towards yellow.
See especially in the shot where Han arrives at Echo base after leaving Luke. Look first at the pilot that passes Han Solo and then at the pilots working on a snowspeeder. I noticed no such color problems in my OOT / laserdisc-RIP.
you have the 2004 transfers to thank for this. there isn't much i can do because trying to get the suits to match is throwing off the skin tones. same thing happened in ANH:R. i'll try and do something but i don't hold out too much hope.
The ION cannon blast will have a small tweak done to the FX but i agree that its not meant to destroy the ship, just disable it.
i see we are still on the subject of Bobas voice somewhat. I won't be keeping Morrison's voice. the whole delivery of the lines is BAD. the original sounds much better and more menacing. You have to remember that i will be doing the PT so the voice while wearing the amour for Jango will be changed. If he was this fearsome bounty hunter why would he wear a mask but have his voice unchanged? surely he would have some sport of voice modulator that would disguise hiw voice so no one knows his true identity, else why wear a mask in the first place?
now the asteroids... i think they look fine as they are. i always loved the look of them. they just need their original colouring restored and some re compositing, thats all.
Shadowman99, that's some good observation there. i need to fully view that sequence again before i can make any comments on this.
teharri, thanks for pointing out that shot in the DVD menus. I really want to use that, and most probably will be able to now because i have some real bad news....
it is going to be impossible to do the revisited saga in HD. I've been doing a lot of wok in FX testing (which i won't be showing since it looks fake) and because i will have to be using so much SD elements to create these edits, upscaling them to HD makes them stick out like a sore thumb. I just wouldn't be happy releasing anything that looks so inferior to what could be achieved by working in SD. I can't apologise enough but its a very difficult decision i had to make.
But i will still be doing the colour corrected SE trilogy though.
