It's an urban legend that Star Wars '77 didn't get good reviews- it got great reviews. The late Joel Siegel even debunked that myth when he reviewed TPM on Good Morning America in '99.

There may have been a cynical review here and there (as with any film), but nothing like this: There are 21 reviews for Clone Wars by the press' top reviewers, and a total of ONE is positive.
