Well, the album was actually released in stereo, it pioneered stereo sound, it was always intended to be listened to in stereo, that's the novelty of it

Octorox, you're wrong. Brian Wilson was the sound mixer, and he mixed in mono.  The first version of it in TRUE stereo was in '99.  Previous "stereo" releases were what is I believe called duophonic, or a simple splitting of certain audio channels, not done by the original audio mixers.
