dark_jedi said:Rikter you got PM,and i have also started re-capturing the Japanese Special Collection(I have my own set now, dont need sega's,he probably wouldnt lend them out again LOL)now with the NEW equipment i have(pioneer cld-79 elite)and alot of new software and help from our own Moth3r(via email,he has been tremendous help so far, thank you Moth3r)i want to take the captured video, and crop out the black bars, where the Jap text is,then re-center it,and encode and maybe mild filter, hell if i can figure out this anamorphic thing i would rather do that, seeing as how i have a widescreen TV myself, but that might be wayyyyy out of my league,i am hopefull i can do this,i really like the looks of the video from this way better player and the CCE encode template i got really makes a difference,ALOT better than TMPGEnc Plus.
So if any one has a guide on any of the above i would love links or anything helpfull,i am going to be devoting ALOT more time than i used to to these projects, plus i have learned alot more from alot of very helpful peeps here, not much help at doom9 though all they reply is "search"
the title of this would be:
Star Wars Japanese Special Collection Trilogy : Jap-Less Edition
i also want to give credit to Boba Feta, because he is actually the first one to bring this idea up to me
i may also re-do some of my other releases,i done know
sorry for the rambling

i have been in the process of collecting all the laserdisc versions (not-PAL),

p.s. NO I am not the seller Lol!
Apologies for bumping such an old thread, but I figured this is as good a place as any to put out this request.
I'm looking for the PCM stereo audio from the following laserdiscs:
The Empire Strikes Back
- 1985 Pan and Scan CAV, CX Stereo, 3 discs, Standard Play (1980 theatrical stereo mix?)
- 1989 Widescreen CLV, CX Stereo, 2 discs, Extended Play (1985 stereo remix?)
Return of the Jedi
- 1986 Pan and Scan CLV, CX Stereo, 2 disc, Extended Play (I'd assume this is either the 1983 theatrical stereo, or the 1985 remix if ROTJ was, in fact, ever remixed in 1985)
Basically I'm looking for all the different audio mixes I can find. I have:
Star Wars
- 1977 Theatrical Mono
- 1977 Theatrical Stereo
- 1985 Stereo Remix
- 1993 Stereo Remix (GOUT rip)
The Empire Strikes Back
- 1993 Stereo Remix (GOUT rip)
Return of the Jedi
- 1993 Stereo Remix (GOUT rip)
I know Empire had 1980, 1985, and 1993 mixes, but I haven't been able to find any but the 1993 mix. I also don't know what the differences are between the 1980 and 1985 mixes.
I have no idea if Jedi was ever re-mixed - if it was, my assumption would be that it was re-mixed in 1993, but not 1985, which would mean there's a 1983 theatrical mix and a 1993 stereo remix. However, it's also possible it was never remixed and the 1993 stereo remix is actually identical to the 1983 stereo mix.
Basically, I'm trying to make a custom DVD set with as many of the original sound mixes as I possibly can, and I'm not all that knowledgeable about the mixes for ESB and ROTJ. If anyone can help me out, that would be fantastic - just shoot me a PM. Thanks in advance!
I had the dark jedi 4 disc special widescreen set, but they are now rotters. Does anyone still have these in non rotted copies ?
In fact i now have to collect the other dark jedi discs as well because they were all on bulkpag media. At the moment all i really want is the disc with the 1985 audio for star wars. It is from a 1989 laserdisc.

The 1985 audio - along with all other audio tracks (1977 mono/stereo, Hairy_hen's 1977 six-track recreation, 1980 stereo, 1983 stereo, and all six 1985 and 1993 stereo mixes) - will be available on Dark_Jedi's GOUT V3 whenever it's finally released.

However, in practice you must take into account the “fuckwit factor”. Just talk to Darth Mallwalker…

I have 3/4 preserved in my cupboard, because that's all that segaflip posted.
They were the very last things he posted before basically disappearing from these boards. segaflip never posted the ROTJ SWE, so I couldn't repost that one (unless you wanted Rikter's BLAK0047-BLAK0050).
If all you want is '85 audio, and cannot wait for the new version, then just grab Dark-Sega (JSC) from a.b.starwars -- it's already there now, and presumed to contain the same soundtrack.
But wait . . . aren't you one of those say-no-to-usenet people?
You would not mind posting star wars SWE DJ incredible shrinking ratio ?
I can learn and purchase a usenet account, but do prefer blanks and postage.
Tested my disc yesterday for star wars, tried doing so at a slower speed still has two read errors. Like most of the rotters the end of star wars is ruined during the trench battle.
I would assume since i have so far tested about 4 of the discs Russ sent me in late 05, or early 06 on bulpaq media generation 2 are all rotters. Should i bother testing all my discs, i pretty much have come to the consensus that all my bulpaq discs are gone.
I have Rikters set but for some reason star wars played back at 18 fps on my pc, and has mpeg audio not ac3 so no dolby decode. His also is worse quality than DJ.

That bullpaq media doesn't sound very reliable really...or do they just not hold up to age?
