"Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope" not "Star Wars" was number two on the list for Sci-Fi. They said the special effects were a breakthrough for the time (1977) and then showed some cg enhanced shots from the 04 DVDs...Isn't that kind of pointless if your talking about how the special effects were breakthough, not breakthough for 1997...

Lucas won't even allow Afi to show film clips from the originals, he wants to keep the originals buried forever while at the same time doing revisionist history of lies that this was his original vision.

I agree with Gary Kurtz Lucas is full of Malarkey about this original vision crap to lie about why he had Greedo shoot first.

Spielberg and Lucas have clearly lost all sense they once had over filmaking, see the free hat episode of south park. Walkie talkies instead of guns in e.t. and greedo shooting first. Never mind the piece of trash that is Indiana Jones IV.

Next thing you know Spielberg will replace Jaws with a even faker looking cgi shark.

I actually noticed that the colors on AFI's special were A LOT better than the DVD's. That was weird.

Lucas cares that much about hiding the past that he specifies to AFI exactly what footage they can show of the OT? I don't think any other producer or director would care what footage AFI shows, but no, Lucas has to be that big of an ass. Can't wait untill he dies.

AFI seems to be into old school filmaking, I'm sure if GL didn't have rights to control AFI, AFI would used old school footage of the OT in their shows.

A while back, AFI was having some sort of film festival, and SW was one of the films slated to be screened. George Lucas was one of the featured speakers. The original AFI listing said "star wars (1977)" so we sent some emails, and AFI did change the listing:
