negative1, it's funny how you try to point out "useless" posts with useless posts of your own...a little ironic, wouldn't you say? ;)

It was mentioned earlier about just how limited this thing was going to be, and I provided the figure w/ the link to back up what I was posting; I like to have sources when I can.

Thanks for your concern with my posts, though. :)

I'm actually interested in this but the overblown pricetag means I wont bother. Now if there's a bit of info on each 'select' frame and maybe some anecdotes it might be a worthy flick through but if it is purely images then it feels like a bit of a cash grab...Even at 1/10 the price I'd really have trouble justifying it.

I'm sure people WILL see it as an investment and it'll sell out well enough, I guess it's one of those things that's just NOT for everyone.

Might be a perfect gift for the Amish.  They can practically see the whole movie without electricity.

Personally, I am happy with my edits and official DVDs.  Buying a set of movie stills seems completely pointless.  One may argue that these will be worth buying because these books are 'highly collectable' and signed by George and all of that, but why couldn't they make something rare and interesting?

LOL, unfortunately, Amish also don't like photographs. So the even though it doesn't use electricity, if you give it to an Amish pal, it isn't gonna do him any good.

But the Amish use fire, right?  It wouldn't be totally useless.

Absolutely ridiculous price for a set of bloody books. As far as an investment goes these will have very limited resale value as no-one will pay this money for a set of pictures signed by George. You want a real investment then invest in original production material and screen-used props from films.I had originally thought this would be a nice set to have and would have considered it at a couple of hundred. When I actually saw the price I was convinced there had to be an error on the site.I mean regardless of anyone's feelings towards Lucas, mine are immaterial,it just quite simply cannot be reasonably argued that this price is remotely justifiable.Bottom line.

Four thousand dollars.Good grief.

 That was an awesome response!

Also, bigdaddy makes a very excellent point about investments.

As for justifying the price, nothing about this thing seem reasonable. This sucker is huge at 210 pounds and 23 1/2 inches long. The whole thing seems like a joke, all the numbers seem rediculously large. That is just half an inch under two feet long, and it weights just 30 pounds less than I do! I don't even know how they could make the stupid thing that heavy. Cost another small fortune just to ship it. I would really like to see one of these things up close.

There are cheaper items signed by George during the original trilogy era and afterwards.

The George Lucas of today his signature is worthless.

4000 bucks to furthur help him bury the oot, sorry not me.

I have a magazine starlog from the tenth anniversary of star wars sold to me by a former editor at starlog on ebay with authenticity and pictures of George signing the actual article.

Unlike 90% of the ebay stuff this is real.

I won't say what i paid but it was not 4000 dollars.

George Lucas is a god in his own mind, and has got those tfn gushers believing and drinking the cool aide.
