Ah, gotcha.  One can only hope that an alternate version of the scene exists where Cillian Murphy actually acts rather than just saying his lines in his normal tone of voice without even putting on his Scarecrow/Dr. Crane performance from BB.

If you couldnt tell I have not cared nor taken this "argument," seriously at all with you. Hahaha its hilarious to watch you continue on. Watching you give a legitimate attempt at making "logical" arguments against statements that I make that are purposely outlandish, its very entertaining. The fact that your making arguments against statements that are not intended at all to have any substance shows how easy it is to tweak you. What a tool hahahaha

And you werent ignored your way to fun and easy to mess with :p

Dude, shut up. You are really freaking annoying, and have managed to make an idiot of yourself as well as destroy the TDK discussion thread. If you think playing the "I was intentionally making retarded arguments and an idiot of myself in order to see how far others would take it..." card is going to dig you out, and make everyone think you are the cool one and the others are the loosers, then you are wrong. I would have recommended quiting while you were ahead (and that was a long time ago), but perhaps you still feel the need to have the last word. If this is the case I would recommend starting your own "ridiculous arguments" thread or something to that effect, instead of making everyone who is interested in real conversation about TDK dig through your crap.

Well, perhaps that's true, but, as C3PX said, it definitely seems like you're arguing that after the fact. You're devoting far more text and emotion to this than I am. If your point was to waste my time, you've only wasted more of your own.

Oh, also, I generally think logic is worth promoting even when the source I'm correcting is being purposely illogical. I just now have the added bonus of seeing you admit how illogical you were/are being. Thanks. :)

I wholeheartedly agree with another poster stating, "The Burton films are good, the Shumacher crap and the Nolan ones great." Not exact phrasing but the meaning's the same.

Watched this on Friday the 1st of August. Can't wait to go see it again.

Each film so far in this current series which is a duology at the moment just keeps on getting better and better. Only thing which I have issues/nitpicks with:

The running time. The pacing was perfect but it's a rare film of which I felt should've ran even longer as it seemed to me in the back of my mind some scenes were cut out. The pacing was superb and felt the film flowed perfectly. Could've been three hours long with the same exact pacing and just "11" it.

I WANT TO OWN IT ALREADY! Yes, Caps Lock annoys me but damn, I already want to own the DVD/Blu-ray of this I loved it alot. The best Batman film yet. That includes the 1989-1997 series and this current one. Goes for the soundtrack too.

Some of the dialog was muffled slightly by the score. Might've been the screen I watched it at but whatever. Subtitles!

Was the Mayor wearing mascara? Bit interesting. Also noticed the cameo by Cillian Murphy as The Scarecrow. Interesting how a major threat in the last film is just a minor one in this one.

Um, where's the third movie please?;)

Hopefully it'll be a return back to the Manor and the Batcave. This film series is in extremely capable hands. Wonder if Man-Bat, The Mad Hatter, The Penguin, Clayface (Matt Hagen), Black Mask, The Riddler (Batman: TAS version!), Mr. Freeze (ditto from last villain), The Ventriloquist and some other villains which are lesser known baddies will be in this series?

Oh! Still need to see BATMAN: Gothman Knight, of which is on my Netflix queue at the top.

How many other posters have taken in multiple viewings? Can be IMAX or whatever. Just for a tally.

RE the mayor and mascara: if you've seen LOST or any other movie/show with Nestor Carbonell, he always looks like that - supposedly he has naturally thick eyelashes.

And I'm all for a proper version of the Riddler, and I'd be very intrigued to see Nolan's interpretation of the Mad Hatter as well.

And now for a little tangent of mine about the Riddler:

The Riddler in my mind needs to be an incredibly intelligent person who has an obsessive compulsion to make his crimes take the form of puzzles or traps, whilst leaving clues behind to prove that he's smarter than the police by giving them all the answers and still getting away with whatever it is he's doing.  And his only problem at all with Batman is that he's the only one who's ever outwitted him - basically, his entire anti-Batman motivation is to prove that he's smarter than Batman is.  And he should be NOTHING like the Joker - his riddles aren't jokes, they're puzzles, plain and simple.  And the question mark gimmick needs to be toned down immensely - green suit jacket, black slacks, green tie (maybe with a question mark) and a bowler hat.  No cheesy Jim Carrey-esque costume.

By the end of Batman Begins, we all knew the next villian would be the Joker. This one didn't leave us with a clue.

I hope it is one of the lesser known villians, though a proper Penguin or Riddler would be kind of cool. I hope they leave Catwoman out of this series completely. Especialy with the crappy Hallie Barry movie still out there on the loose. I guess with Rachel gone they will need another love interest for Batman/Bruce Wayne, but I really hope this doesn't give them the idea to use Catwoman to fill that void. I really don't want to see her pop up in the next film.

I think I've seen him in a few episodes of the live-action THE TICK.

Chain, that sounds EXACTLY like the BATMAN: The Animated Series version of The Riddler. I'd love to see that particular "rendition" on the silver screen. But who could play him?

That Firefly or Firebug could be an arsonist type. The grey-suited one.

The Mad Hatter could be great too.

Hey, I thought at one point you had said something about not making personal attacks and getting offended by being called a nitpicker (pretty tame name calling), and yet after my very first post addressed to you on this subject, in which I expressed my annoyance in the degradation of this thread and asked you stop (admittedly, perhaps not as politely as I should have), you call me a douch and a twat. Thanks for proving your maturity. Now if you don't mind could you just shut up and stop hijacking this thread with your crap.

EDIT: Okay, the GhostAlpha's Ridiculous Arguments thread has been started. Feel free to move any dumb arguments there. Also, GA you are of course more than welcome to play games and make illogical arguments in order to prove how foolish people are based on how long they continue to argue with you. Sounds like a fun game, but not in the TDK thread.

From now on it would be really cool if this thread could be used for discussing Batman.

Interesting - I'll need to watch the Riddler episodes of TAS again (I haven't seen it in ages and had to sell my DVDs of the first two seasons during my period in between jobs).  And I had a perfect idea for who could play that rendition of the Riddler a while ago ... then completely forgot who I'd thought of.

Chain, I believe the Batman: TAS Volumes are only $17.99 each on Amazon.com Volumes of course meaning they're in production order and not broadcast order. Should be for all four volumes.

I know this is a long ways off, and probably 100% inaccurate, but just to generate some discussion:

Batman 3 villian rumors.
http://movies.ign.com/articles/895/895689p1.html

Definately need someone British to play the role of the Penguin, if they decide to use him as the villian, I hope they don't screw him up as bad as they did with Batman Returns.

Depp as the Joker... I guess it could work... he is a bit too mainstream for my taste though... it would suck to basically get Capt. Jack Sparrow in Joker clothing.

How about Christopher Eccleston or Eddie Izzard  as Penguin, and John Malkovich as Riddler?

As long as he doesn't play it the way he played Willy Wonka, I'd probably be ok with it.  The last thing we need is a Joker that was "abused as a child".

If they are really going with depp as the joker and Jolie as catwoman i say lets all start a boycott of the movie.

It will be like batman and robin mixed with Halle version of catwoman, awful.

The Villain from Mission Impossible III as the penguin.

What are they fucking retarded?

Depp as the riddler?  Not sure he can play serious and funny both so who knows.

I just saw TDK again last night and was thinking about this afterwards.  I don't think he should have any love interest in the next film.  Have it focus on his detective skills and his "running from the law" baggage from the end of this film.  As much as I like the Burton films, they're structured straight from the "Script writing for corporate Hollywood 101" textbook.  Chapter 1 - Damsel in distress.  Even BB and TDK suffered from that, although to a lesser extent.  The next Nolan/Bale Batman film needs to break that mold and avoid the love interest angle completely.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

There was a line in TDK regarding his new suit, which was something to do with 'Cats'...as in , "it'll  protect against cats" or something like that. Maybe that was a little clue as to who's in the next movie.

They made mention about dogs not cats

The line went something like:

BRUCE: Will it protect me against dogs?

FOX: We talkin' rottweilers or chihuahuas?  It should do fine against cats.

Not 100% precisely accurate, but that's basically what the line was.

Author

Ah your right I forgot about that line.

But If they want to really put this trilogy down the tubes (and their well on their way) cat woman would be just the thing.
