Notice he doesn't use "we", "us", "you", or "everyone" in this sentence. He only uses the terms "I" and "my". So, he doesn't care about the films you watched when you were young (such as Star Wars) or the films you watched throughout your life, and he doesn't care if your children get to see them or not. Star Wars does not fit into Lucas' equation because he didn't watch it when he was a child or throughout his life time, he merely made it. Besides, his kid's can watch the OOT in fantastic quality anytime they want, their daddy's got connections.

So, I just proved the irrelevence of this Lucas quote.
