James Bond 007 WARHEAD (* unfinished project *)

teaser Coming Soon Warhead is a fan edit of the 1993 Brosnan film Detonator aka death train… The title Warhead refers to the nuke on the train, while also a nod to the McClory title. The film will work as a short film ( roughly 30 mins or so ), all about the mission. It will tighten up the action, (Think of how the TND opening worked) Brosnan in the field and away from the control room. It will play like an extended pre-title seq rather than a full 3 act story. It can in a sense work as a prequel to Goldeneye (timeline wise). The film as is, is paced horribly. New sound-effects and bond score will be added, along with the gunbarrel introduced in Goldeneye. Patrick Stewart will have a role similar to M. I haven’t decided if it’s possible to make him M in the edit or not. I won’t know until I get to that point. Alexandra Paul’s role will be edited down to be a part of the team, and not a bond girl/bond’s equal character. Christopher Lee of-course will be the bad guy. With the exception of Alexandra Paul the cast isn’t bad, and will some tight editing and new sound, I really think this is possible. The dead bond years between 1989 and 1995 will now have at-least one mission, at least in the fan-edit world. As far as extras go, I plan on creating a teaser and full trailer. Since Brosnan almost got the role in 1987, and was even announced with it. I toyed with the idea of making trailers for TLD,LTK and the 1991 never made film. Using footage of films Brosnan did around the same time intercut with footage from the Dalton era films. This project is in no way meant to dis-credit Daltons work, or any other bond actors work. It is simply, for fun.

Will he sing in this one?

That is the title of the second mclory remake of thunderball which was never made.

Mclory croaked. so what is this a bad late april fools joke?

I think Pierce still had another film or two in him but they replaced him with Craig and now it is time officially to move on, sad as it may be to us Pierce Brosnan fans, and daniel craig haters out there.

To me bond is Connery and Brosnan, end of story.

Though  grew up in the moore/dalton era they never were bond to me.  and who is this Lazenby guy, LOL.

SkyJedi, First off this isn't an attempt to discredit Daniel Craig at all. I'm a James Bond fan. I have found something to love about every actor who has played this character. It's not a matter of moving on. Craig is the bond of record. Does moving on, mean we have to forget the actors to played bond before? No, What harm is this fan edit? Actually Warhead was the title of the ORIGINAL McClory bond film he developed with Connery in the late 70's, which had a different plot-line than NSNA. It wasn't until after a judges ruling that McClory only had rights to make "One" remake/retelling of Tunderball. He tried using the title Warhead, Warhead 2000 and Warhead A.D. for years after Never Say Never but was never able to get it off the ground. Anyways, My first post had this information, but I guess it didn't make it somehow. Warhead is a fan edit of the 1993 Brosnan film Detonator aka death train... Anyone have any idea why everything I post comes out in one big paragraph? I certainly didn't type it that way.

Interesting!  I just can't imagine anything in that movie that resembles BOND.

In the end, I think it's a great idea to atleast give it a try.

I am backing you 100% percent.

As a classic bond/tux spy film, no it couldn't work. As a action oriented fast paced short film, yes I think it can. Brosnan is in bond mode for the action moments. Some of the slower "character" moments are very un-bond though.

Interesting.  This one could be pretty cool if done right.  Keep us posted.

Cool, good idea, you should include some footage from the 1980 something Sean Connery Nevery Say Never again, it has some good warhead footage.

I had ideas of an opening where you could edit it in a way that uses footage from other movies -

Open at hotel somewhere ( this should be easy to find, a shot of a hotel from another movie)  and show a nice car pulling with someone  getting out - show a facial shot of Bond (from another movie) looking around.

Next he is in the hotel room ( another facial shot)  - you don't have to show his face just the computer screen of him getting a message with discussion of that this one is off the books. No one can know of this assignemnt.

You could even create this text on your own computer - It would have to be early computer emailing of some sorts.

Maybe throw in dialog that suggests his vaction is over -

then it goes in to the full on Bond credit soundtrack -

This would be a good way to set it up and extend it a little. If you need help let me know!! I am not really a Bond fan but I like this idea of Warhead.

I'd love to see this re-edit! If there is anyway you could expand it from 30 min. to a full hour, that would be great.

Did you consider, though, to have this film play out as a sequel to DAD? Or is it too obvious its pre-GE?

I haven't seen the original film thats edited, of course.

The film was made in 1993, He is obviously a lot younger than the bond in 02. Plus the themes of the story are very early 90's with the Russian connection. I wish I wouldn't have announced this yet, only because I think it's going to take a little longer than expected. I recently got involved into a lot of work and it will be the fall at earliest before I can tackle this. Glad to see people are excited about it though.

You could probably edit a pre-title sequence from night watch (aka detonator 2) and update the gun-barrel sequence, mix your own gun-barrel song, and create titles using the text-less thunderboll titles.

If you rele got into it this could be awsome.  Try making it longer than 30mins, this idea has potential.  Maybe some shots of sean connery or timothy dalton could be added since that was the original idea for warhead.

I was originally going to edit Never Say Never Again with shots from the Living Daylights, and various other clips, also adding a gun-barrel, and using 1 complete score.  If you were trying to make what Warhead was going to be, that would have been.

Dont get me wrong this could be cool as well.

Don't sweat it.  Just let this thread slip into the murky haze of the dozens and dozens of projects in the works or on the backburner here and later on, you drop a warhead on us.

I would love to see this project come true. I'm too a great Bond fan and I have myself a plan of making a fan-edit of Diamonds are forever, but it's just a plan at the moment as I am halfway through another Bond fan-edit.

I really hope you make this one - go for it!

You know, I think it'd be best if this re-edit was structured as if it were a Bond film, prior to the Dalton ones. That way, it'd be WARHEAD, the Dalton ones, and then the four Brosnan ones.

What do you think?

Why not just have him make it take place between Licence to Kill and GoldenEye? I mean there's a suitable gap of time between the two films and both movies he's making this project from were made during this time.

WARHEAD: The Forgotten James Bond Film (A re-edit of Detonator I & II). Hey, it could work maybe.

Somewhere on the internet I've also seen custom movie posters of James Bond films that never were. Cool concept. And if you wanted my opinion, George Lazenby should've made another 007 film. Same goes for Timothy Dalton but legal issues for the film rights of the character from I think 1989 to 1994 put a temporary hold on that. Said film was going to titled (based upon what I've read) Property of a Lady. It might've been great or it might've been shite. May never know.

I say this, because GE directly adresses that Bond hasn't been on the service for a number of years, namely, the years between LTK and GE. When Bond quit on LTK, he quit for good. Until GE, that is.

Thus why the pre-title sequence pre-dates the Dalton movies - to explain the behaviour Bond was at at the Dalton movies, and to signify that after LTK, Bond was no Agent.

Got it now?

Plus, with WARHEAD you have a good chance to introduce Bond as one with no history or connection to the Connery/Moore one.
