Yeah, I reconsidered using the 2004 mix. I'm in talks of obtaining the optical captures of the 1997 SE 5.1 mix. Those seem to be much better than the 1997 upmix that's been floating around. It will be GOUT synched (just as my whole project is GOUT synced). I can mostly spot the major differences between 93 and back, and I have a forum page saved with information on some of the more subtle additions in 1993 and on (extra lasers and such). I'll definitely compile a test mix for the right people.
