That's right, I forgot about the GOUT discs. Well, it was last time the Original trilogy was released normally instead of being "bonus material". "How in the world could vhs ever be better than laserdisc?" I don't know, I never owned a laserdisc. I was just asking.

i just figured over the last several years, a lot of people had been watching the laserdisc rips.
basically laserdiscs, are like really big cd's (think vinyl albums)......that hold analog video,
although they do deteriorate, and have issues like dot crawl, noise, and other artifacts (especially if they've been mastered from subpar sources
like videotape)...................in general they retain their quality as long as you preserve them well..
i have very old laserdiscs from the late 80's that still look sharp.........
by the way, if you go to fanedits, make sure you get a rapidshare account, or it will take you a long time to download
the files,.................also if you're adventurous and knowledgable about newsgroups, you might want to check those
out also...like alt.bin.starwars..................etc...
