This is probably going to get me killed, but did Star Wars SE really change the story that much? I always thought that the stories were the same, it was just some of the effects.

The thing is that SW:SE it tried to change the story in tiny ways: Greedo shooting first, Jabba meeting Han and repeating what Greedo just said, Hayden at the end of RotJ. Things were added to make it better fit with movies that came later.

ST:Remastered never tried to add things from any of the shows that occurred after it or before it. One alien ship is reminiscent of the Enterprise version, but there aren't added references on the walls to Captain Archer or Phlox. It still stands alone as "The Original Series", not part of a larger saga.
