Some of the differences in those pictures are stunning! It's especially slap-you-in-the-face different when you look at that strips of white light in the Falcon. Did you do some extra work on that shot, because that's just...wow.

No. everything in those shots is just the first pass. i have all the extra layers for colour tweaking to do yet once the first pass is complete

Wow, Red Lightsaber! Fantastic Job.

The person your searching for simply does not exist

Those shots look great without that blue tint all over it. It's like Cillit Bang - one pass of Ady and the blue's all gone!!

Those shot examples are looking really great.  If that's only the 'first pass', then I'm sure looking forward to your final colouration!

Impressive! Most impressive. I was a little worried about how the colour correction would fair in the carbon freezing chamber (as i think the SEs dare i say, look really good at that point in the movie - excluding the sabres of course). Looks like you can improve on that look aswell, so im confident its all in good hands.

Just like to add, although its at a very, very early stage, its already looking the best Empire has ever looked (even from downscaled grabs), so congratulations are in order. Thanks for sharing that with us Ady.

Those black matte lines will need addressing around the second officer in the 'first chatch of the day' shot, there eventually.

Yeah, my biggest problem with the effects in the movies now are the matte lines and discolored ships. (There is one shot in ROTJ where the AT-ST looks green but it's pervasive everywhere)

A couple of other ESB things that have always bugged me are the still visible compositing flags (epecially the one which follows the Falcon as it enters the Asteroid cave) and more so the obvious matte painting of the Rebel Hanger that cuts in just after Vader's first scene.

We have this wonderful full sized set (often seen out of focus in the background which adds to realistic feel of the hanger shots) and then suddenly there is a painting which really looks like a painting and it's in uniform focus (the effect is in some ways even worse than the similar shot of the Falcon in ROTJ because of the beauty of the rest of the sequences in this film).

Is there some way that the painting element can be adjusted so it looks a little less in focus and is colour corrected for distance?

Weird. As i think most of us can see the images. You seeing them yet Greedo? Could be your firewall stopping you for some strange reason. Or some setting within explorer. Thats about the limit of my expertease unfortunatly. Reuploaded the image for you here http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/6702/1080pcomparisonpl2xt8.jpg

Thank-you so much for that babe! Its quite shocking how different the photos are from the originals, and they seem more crisp. That matte line around the Imperial Officer is well dodgy! Adywan is amazing! and you are an angel Darth Solo for being the perfect gentleman x.

A belated welcome to the OT forums B.T.W, and to you Greedo if i havent done so beforehand.

Ady, when this is eventually released, will you only release a 1080p version squeezed onto  dvd9 or will you release a full size 1080p h264 or wmv to play on a computer without any further compression that wasn't on the original file.

ady already answered that somewhere. basically u can extract it somehow.

Yeah but to fit on the dvd9 it already has to be compressed into a smaller size. I think 3 hours of HD footage would be more than 8 gigs...

3 hours? ESB is only just over 2 hours. Using the x264 codec and using the correct settings you can convert the 17GB original to 8GB and you'd be hard pressed to see any difference in quality. Don't forget that the Star Wars HD releases are all from TV broadcasts and are nowhere near as good as an original Blu-ray version would be. It just isn't worth doing a higher sized release for a very very slight difference in quality

3, 2 whatever. I guess I thought it was longer than it is.
