Cursor skips down a line without hitting the Enter key.

It doesn't look like anybody has mentioned this problem so I'll make a new thread. It's also kind of weird so I don't know if anybody else has experienced it or not. But, occasionally when I'm typing fast and I hit spacebar the cursor will skip down a line (as if I had hit the enter key but I'm sure that I did not). I think this has only happened when I've had a quote box at the top of the text entry.

I use Firefox and I refreshed the forums so the major bugs disappeared.

Oh, and a related request: Would it be possible to provide users with an optional, purely text-based entry? One where I could manually control things like quote tags for instance? The quote box preview is cool, but I occasionally like doing complex things when I quote other posts and I have some trouble getting quotes to be as I want them while manipulating the quote box preview with copy/paste and the Enter key.

I've never seen the first issue, though I don't post nearly as often as some of you :) I'll check the TinyMCE developer forum and see if anyone else has reported this.

Regarding your second request, you can still use forum tags even with the advanced editor in place. Feel free to build your nested quotes manually if the editor makes it difficult to accomplish exactly what you want. I also found some code that would allow users to toggle the editor on and off; I'll take a look at implementing it.

Ahh, thanks. Actually, I probably should have tried that by now. I guess I was stupidly assuming that entering quote tags would automatically create a preview.

Otherwise, the spacebar=line-skipping problem is not one that I get too often. It's happened to me once more since I posted this (again when a quote preview was at the top of the text entry). It's not a difficult problem to deal with but it does make me disoriented for a fraction of a second. :)

Okay, I have an actual example of it happening again. The second sentence I was typing below should have been part of the same paragraph. I only hit Spacebar and then Shift+I around the line skipping event (the last few skips I've encountered have been between sentences so maybe using Shift to get a capital letter is the culprit). (Also, before that, I went below the quote and hit Shift+Enter once and it gave me two line skips instead of one, which is another thing that has happened to me more than once.) I hope this helps.

What about Clive Revill? Not only was his entire performance cut out of the film, but he's still alive to see it. That's a much bigger insult than what happened to Shaw, and yet that's the one major change that most of the people around here seem to accept.

I have not accepted that.

Just so you know, I haven't been getting this problem lately, so if you fixed something it was a good fix.
