The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has all kinds of decency standards in place and this move highly violates these standards. Nudity on US TV is a big deal. The funny thing about all this is that they never seem to enforce these "standards" on a regular basis. The FCC is, in all honesty, one giant hypocrisy in action. But, once in a while, they like to assert themselves much to the chagrin of free speech enthusiasts across the nation. I find it funny how the US is perceived as so advanced and the land of the free and all that jazz, yet we freak out at a little T&A on TV or swearing or talk about sex or the like while it's pretty commonplace in the rest of the world. If we were more open about these things, they wouldn't hold the appeal to the younger generations that they do.

It's like guns, in my opinion. If you teach a child how to use a gun and show them everything there is to know about them, the allure and fascination is gone. What would be the purpose of sneaking into daddy's gun cabinet if you already know everything about them and have used them under your parents' strict supervision? It worked with me and my brother. My dad took us to shooting ranges all the time and was never afraid to answer questions we had or to show us his guns as long as he was there. No secrecy. And we never once felt the need to go into his gun cabinets. Not even when friends wanted to see them. Secrecy leads to fascination. Be honest, people. It'll save on problems in the future.
