thats really strange. i thought that the demoniod new one was my original iso that doesn't have any problems (apart from a conflict when burning with imgburn only). i have just tested the original iso in windvd, windows media player & vlc media player and i can't recreate the problem you are having so i guess the demoniod torrent has a problem (a layer break freeze/lock up has also been mentioned over there).
i think your best bet is not to waste any more DL DVDs and ask someone who is part of the PIF chain if they can send you a copy (then you'll have to PIF 3 copies of course)
