I think ThrowgnCpr was talking about printing and folding the box set box, not the plain DVD cover. As long as you scaled the cover to Sky_'s, you should be alright.


yes, I was certainly talking about the box art. I've printed hundreds of dvd cover arts in the past, but never attempted a box. The trick would be getting the right medium, and large enough paperboard to print it on (which would be limited by your printer) It seems awfully tricky to do at home, so I've never given it a go, but would love to hear if someone has devised a method for printing it. :)

At the very least, you might be able to squeeze it onto legal size paper, assuming the artwork was the right length and it was designed to wrap around an existing box, saving you from having to create the box from scratch.

Failing that, I think you'd have to design it in pieces - wrap, top and bottom - and put flaps on the top and bottom to build the box. 'Course, the problem still remains of what to print it on. What's the heaviest photo paper available?

I just browsed through all the comparison pictures in doubleofive's sig, and I am blown away. Unfortunately, I don't have the best internet connection, and therefore I have no way to get a copy. Would anyone be willing to send, or PIF a dual-layer NTSC copy to me? I'm quite willing to pass it on to others. PM me if so. Thanks!

I think I should point out to anyone that is downloading the DVD9 from Demonoid that it doesn't work and seems corrupt. I downloaded it, in full, twice. burned it about 3 times and it just doesn't seem to work. I checked the files out on the hard drive and the film seems to repeat itself in the part where everyone is in the trash compactor.

yes, what seems to happen is it goes from the scene in the trash compactor, to an extra (scene comparison of the x-wings), back to the begining of the film. Also let's say I click on one of the last few chapters of the film, it will bring me to say Luke talking to Obi-wan in his hut, and the time will say that the film is about 2 hours in or so.

thats really strange. i thought that the demoniod new one was my original iso that doesn't have any problems (apart from a conflict when burning with imgburn only). i have just tested the original iso in windvd, windows media player & vlc media player and i can't recreate the problem you are having so i guess the demoniod torrent has a problem (a layer break freeze/lock up has also been mentioned over there).

i think your best bet is not to waste any more DL DVDs and ask someone who is part of the PIF chain if they can send you a copy (then you'll have to PIF 3 copies of course)

i know its strange. I'll tell you what it sounds like to me, that the iso is somehow corrupt or hasn't actually finished downloading correctly (happened to me a few times when i used those horrible torrent thingies, although at the time the client reported the download as finihsed). Can you force your torrent client to do a hash recheck on the file.

i know its strange. I have done a hash recheck (using Azureus, the program I downloaded it with) but with no result. I agree, whatever happened, file sharing does seem to be the cause. But if it's corrupt in this way, does it make sense that I'm still able to access the files? The most important thing seems to be that when looking at individual files, I can't find the last half of the film.

I can try downloading it again using a different torrent program to see if i get a different result. Otherwise, as Jake Blues would say I'm "really up shit creek.". :)

On a totally unrelated note, nice Reading Rainbow reference up there. :) I was thinking "there aren't enough references to Levar Burton television shows at this forum" just before I read that. Actually, I wasn't, but in hindsight, how cool would it have been had I done so?! :p

i'm sorry you're still having issues, but not only is this the original
.ISO pulled from newsgroup rars, untouched, but it's been burned
several times..by myself and others with 0 issues..

in fact, i'm watching it again right now, just to check what you said..
and i'm not having any menu issues, jumping to scenes, or fast forwarding
rewinding the scenes....[see below]....something is either incomplete,
or got corrupted at some point...but its not here at source..

I'll be able to help PIF, but I sadly lack the ability to print disc art (I don't trust stick-on labels at ALL, and I don't have a printer that can print directly to disc). I can do cover art, though. If that's okay with whoever wants a copy, I'll be willing to send to the first 5 people that PM me about it.

As a compromise with the disc art, the disc I send will be a Verbatim DVD+DL that's unlabeled. And by that I mean, I won't write on the disc itself at all, so you can label it yourself in whatever way you wish (though I don't have printable media, sorry).

I didn't get it from a news group, I got it from Demonoid. Now where the trouble originates from remains to be seen. The fact still remains that I download the almost 8 gig file twice, went threw the files and and burned it 3 times. It doesn't work.
